Tim,
Just catching up with this thread. Yes I am going from Lymington, probably with Milo72, with the intention of nipping over to Portsmouth and hooking up with the crowd from there. Milo has set timings as;

Arr Lym @9.45
Leave Lym @10.15
Arr Ptmth @11

I think we are bit optimistic for the Lymington Portsmouth leg, but I guess if we see a whole bunch of RIBs coming towards us we can always duck

While I remember-does anyone have a current Merc/mariner fuel line fitting lying around that I can borrow that day? I had to borrow one from one of my tanks to fit the water trap and the only chandlers I've been near has sold out. It's 35 miles from here to the nearest one - OR... Is there a chandlers near Warsash that's open early enough?

Matt,

You will pass two chandlers at Warsash. Not too sure of the opening times but they are both Aladdins Cave.

http://www.aladdinscave.co.uk/Branch%20Locator.htm

You want the details for deacons and Moodys. I will show you where they are if you phone them and get the parts you want sorted.

Nick.

Ian, I'm starting to feel a little guilty about the timings as everyone else is talking about 0600 and 0645! I'm happy to leave whenever is needed. If the plan is 1030@pompey, lets aim for that. say 0830-0845@ Lym, and leave the pontoons by 0930. HW is 0800. we could always hang a left Cowes if its cold/wet/spikey etc. let me know your thoughts....

Warsash launching

For anyone launching at warsash in the morning your going to be launching at high tide. Which means that your boat will need to be manhandled down a gentle slope for about 20 meters until you get enough water to launch. All this will be done in knee deep water. Bring a long rope to pull your trailer out and have a couple of adults to push the boat with leggings/drysuits and everything should be okay. There is a pontoon to tie on to whilst you sort your car out and there is plenty of free car parking. But not in the car park next to the slope. You have to go back round the one way circuit to the Apex for trailer parking. Its a nice area so things should be fine with trailers and cars. There are toilets and a pub available. Four wheel drive will be required for the first part of the slip which gets copious amounts of seaweed and muck built up on it by the rising tide.

I'm going to try and meet everyone at Pompey, sea state permitting. I'll keep an eye out for RIBs on the way there.

Yep, sounds a good idea, leave the Lightship/Haslar Marina area at 10.59

All

Will be keeping an eye on the conditions and will make a decision in the morning. Have commited to a family day out, so won't be coming if Mrs Nasher and my two young lads won't enjoy it.

Will hopefully launch at Hayling and meet up at the Lightship at 10:59

Will try to tie up with the Hallidays and Aging Youth etc.

Nasher.

OK looks like its shaping up to be a good day! Ian and Milo, Don't know if I'll be able to launch in time to hook up with you chaps and also not sure if I can afford the fuel to go all the way up to pompy and back. I will speak to my crew and see what they think. If you don't hear from me, assume I'll meet up with at the folly, I'll phone in the morning if I can meet up with you (9:15 somewhere between yarmouth lymington?).

We would like to try and get out to see verytricky off on his RTI record attemp at 0900hrs off yarmouth, but all depends on amount of bevvies consumed at my xmas party this afternoon

Daniel, what time do you think you will be heading through? Have you changed your number since RIBex?!

My next door neighbour sells xmas trees, does anyone want one for their rib?

Pass the Port...

It looks like many RIBs will attempt to meet at The Lightship (enter Portsmouth Harbour on the left and the green lightship is just a hop, skip and a jump straight ahead & slightly to port).

Difficult to say exactly who will be there (depends on launching issues etc.) but we'll keep the list on board and RIB spot as we go along!

Some excellent breakfast suggestions have been posted

If things are running late for you then see you at The Folly at 12.33

If after The Folly it's still bright and peeps feel like a blast around, well there will be photographers to capture the moments!

Looking forward to it now the weekend's almost here!

Kathleen & Paul

Unhappily, my little trip has been cancelled...

Aparently it is going to be very nasty on the opposite side of the Island tomorrow, and the plug has been pulled.

Should, however, be a good day in the solent, provided you dont go past the forts or past the needles....

Can't remember when I changed by number - was awhile ago. Currently 07908 694 208. I'm hoping to leave Poole around 8.30, I'll give you bell when I get to Yarmouth and see if your around.
