Solent beach bbq

Is it about time to have a bbq on the beach somewhere in the solent area. Perhaps Newtown, Thorness or thereabouts. Either beach up or anchor off, few drinks, something to eat, put a few faces to name's 😏 All hopefully very casual, what say you? Simon.

Sounds like a plan!
Newtown is always popular, or one of our favourites is the western end of Totland bay, very sheltered ( unless a northerly ) and a gentle sloping sea bed leading to a golden sand beach, access any state of the tide

Dates are always the problem. With the jet stream doing its thing, the weather is looking like it's warming up. If we are north coasting it for a beach on the Island, we need a southerly to shelter on shore. I'm happy with any creek, cove, bay or beach along the coast. Tides up or down! with the amount of local knowledge on here, anything can be achieved.

If the suns out then a beach can be picked according to the wind direction virtually on the day and participants advised ...................?

Perhaps Totland is further away for folk coming from Portsmouth side, Newtown is a good midway point. Date suggested being the 20th fits in with me. Sunny intervals and a moderate south west wind....Also an anniversary for Andre's friends, great excuse to celebrate.....

It sounds like fun, we are trying to complete at our new house at Island Harbour by then. Hopefully we’ll be there, finally it’s just around the corner!

Looking at the forecast for Saturday and it does not look good. Sunday is a better choice

Typical, trying to set a date with our unpredictable weather...
If at all possible for everyone else, Sunday would be a better day. Failing that, we could perhaps reschedule for a lunchtime in the Folly another day.
