Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site, only joined yesterday, but wish I could have joined you all on your trip round the Island. I love the Solent and Isle of Wight and try and get down for a couple of holidays with the boat every year, usually keep the boat while down that way in Lymington Yacht Haven.
Have a great trip and hope to see some pictures of your trip on the site.
Best Regards
Graham

Welcome Graham,

We'll make sure we take a few pictures! I've just looked at yours (through the link to your homepage) and you seem to like visiting the same places we do. Look forward to meeting up some time and cruising together!

P.S. Thanks for your good wishes.

P.P.S. - Steve - you started this whole cruise so we'll go with whatever channel you say. Looks like it's 72 then!

We are planning to be out on Saturday only. Launching from Chichester, not sure on time, but probably mid-morning best as it takes us a while to get down the channel from Chichester. What about meeting around the forts say 11am (Rib net time! ). Or is this too late - we can get up earlier if needs be!!!

Will monitor Ch. 72 (call sign "Juno") & prefer to go with the tide, i.e. anti clockwise.

Louise - We will also PM our mobile number to you.

Hi Roy, sorry we're all being a bit vague!! We have made tentative arrangements to meet with Janet & Bill by the forts off Bembridge/Portsmouth at about 11am on Saturday. That should give us enough time to get to Cowes or even Yarmouth for lunch and then continue round the back of the island. How does this suit you (and everyone else)?

Tentative plan:

*All meet at forts (St Helen's?) at 11am Saturday.
*Lunch in Cowes or Yarmouth depending on whether we're late, sea/weather conditions and how hungry we are!
*Continue round island. If we havent already called in Yarmouth, call in on the way to meet up with Tim.

Comms on Ch 72.

The inshore waters forecast is this:

Selsey Bill to Lyme Regis.

24 hour forecast:
Wind: northwest backing west 4 or 5.
Weather: rain later.
Visibility: good.
Sea State: slight or moderate
.

I'm not happy with skippering my boat on such a (for me) long trip in F4 and F5. So I think I will give it a miss.

Pity because I was looking forward to it if the weather was nice.

I might take her out from Warsash for an hour or so to get a bit of choppy sea experience so I might see you go by.

Hope you have a happy and safe time.

Peter.
