Just wondering if youíd be happy with a relative new comer joining the trip?

That and also the fact that I havenít got marine vhf yet. Iíd have a dry suit, life jacket etc. Fuel requirements, camping etc.

Just stretching for time and money at the moment to get vhf and chart plotter gps before the trip.

It would be my first sea outing as I currently donít have the kit but hoped in a group Iíd be safe?

My rig is a 3.3m Excel with an inflatable keel and a 15hp Mariner 4 stroke.

Iím not a gung-ho idiot hence asking if youíd be happy to have me along with less than Iíd need solo.

Any minimum requirements or kit for this trip?

P.s. Iím a paramedic if that helps ha ha.

There have been relative "noobies" on trips before. Even amongst the more experienced, not everyone has a plotter, although some sort of chart/map and compass would be a good idea just in case you were to get detached from the group [the group can get spread over a mile or so and in bigger waves not everyone will be visible]. Whilst I'd normally say a VHF is pretty important: in a group like this (1) not everyone needs one; (2) you are lucky to hear it over the engine; (3) mobile coverage in the Clyde is reasonably good.

Great. Thank you. I shall watch this post.

Iíve managed to get on a RYA vhf course with exam this weekend so should hopefully have my licence through by the time of the trip. Plenty of vhf handhelds around to choose from.

Iíve looked at the Ďwhat do you take with youí thread so should be fairly well prepared. But as ever any advice is appreciated.

To say Iím looking forward to it is an understatement

Will this still be wild camping or is it a site? Itís a shame about the camping restriction on Arron. Is this a new thing or just a precaution due to numbers?

Pretty much got all my kit sorted now. Looking forward to the trip.

Thanks again for organising. See you fairly soon.
