Personally I think Sunart to Fort William in bad weather is RIB territory. Generally the bad weather comes on a SW wind, even on the lightest of winds coming out the Sound in to Linnhe can be adventurous.
If it's of any help I'd personally stay in Sunart for a day. It's a cracking loch with some good shelter and good fishing.

Hi guys trip info for outing
Day one
Largs 10:00 low tide Saturday so beach launch visiting little cumbrae then across to Brodick for lunch round the inner part of holy island and round Dipping point depending on tide we shall be fine for cutting through the reef as tide will be in then round to black waterfoot camp site cour bay approximately 45nm
Day two
Up to skipness point then up to Tarbert fuel can be got from portavadie then up to reef for lunch down pass glass to Inveraray then back down opposite side to camp site near Newton approximately 45 nm
Final day past portavadie round down the sound of Bute back to largs high tide at 17:00 so will be able to recover from slipway hope this is suitable for everyone please remember that you are responsible for your own craft and well being and checking your plans please not that no boat will be left on there own and all boats must be sea worthy all the best HH see you there

Well had a great two days with the guys but unfortunately it came to an end with major boat problems it was a slow and long trip back to the Launch site with two meter swells and a boat taking in water was not good I held the shore line all the way down Bute and the Clyde before crossing to largs the tide and wind had picked up by now and was two meter swells some long and some quite sharp together before I went for it I was going to ditch the boat had catch the ferry for car and trailer but took the decision to go for it got everything ready for bail out just in case it went wrong. I said to the guys just go to the next camp site and enjoy yourselves so it didn't ruin there trip by taking me back I will put more info about boat problems up once I have been to dealers so there is no come back for me before then and I hope next trip will go well on my new boat that I have just ordered HH
Sorry hear of your woes. Not pleasant when things aren't going right and you have to start thinking worst cases.. Glad you got back... Although I guess ephysically xhausted and mentally drained. . I look forward to reading the details. What went wrong and why?
The Bombards had a Suzuki 20 4 stroke and a Mariner 15 2 stroke. Both went extremely well.
I like the small rib. More stable. More comfortable and is still easy to manage. Feels safer in the bigger seas. Although it uses a lot more fuel with it being 2 stroke [emoji53]
