So the other unexpected requirement.. bring a clothes peg.. I may smell like an old fisherman.. by the time I get to Belnahua. Hope you guys working in offices can feel sorry of the self inflicted punishment Im going through ... by wild camping for almost a week now

You can go off people you know.

Alan, sorry to hear that, I suppose you can always hope he grows out of the footie or you'll never get afloat again! Look forward to seeing you at Gannavan.

OK folks - it is almost inevitable that there would be some call offs, but those who are able to make it (including anyone who looks out the window and fancies joining us) seem set to have the best weekend of the year so far (and possibly all year!) for Scottish SIB camping... ...I can tell you that took some organising!

I don't want to be too prescriptive, but the suggested route to begin with is:

Gannavan - West of Kerrera - Bridge over Atlantic - Sound of Luing and then round Luing ... and then see how its going weather, swell and small boat wise before deciding on the next step.

Its clear that Belnahua remains in our sights but ALternative Camp Site 1 on the map I posted last week might be better depending on the swell. The Gurnard is hopeful that this will finally be the time he gets to step foot on the Garvellachs too.

I'd expect we will return north via Easdale and come through the Sound of Kerrera for some variety. That is probably enough for most people but if anyone is really keen and wants to burn more fuel, time may allow it!

MEET AT GANAVAN (https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...1094d11b1d31c4) 10AM ON SAT - IF POSSIBLE PLEASE BE READY TO GO AFLOAT AT 10AM.

If anyone doesn't have my mobile number and wants it PM me.

It looks like the latest roll call is:

Poly (+Willk)
The Gurnard
9d280 ? Was sounding doubtful last I heard?
rab rib
Deano
Kaman

+ Tony and Mrs Hill in the evening?

Any others welcome - but actually this is quite a nice size group anyway.

9d280 - sorry to hear your troubles - sounds like all the more reason to get away before the lurgy catches you too!

OK my boat is ready (I think!). Kit is packed. Crew are in place. Setting off early doors tomorrow.

Remember change for parking if you are coming - pay for 2x 1 day!

Latest weather (Oban):

1000-1600 3kts W (shifting to N) Gusting 4kts sunny cloud (65%) small risk of a tiny shower, 11 degC.
1600-2200 4kts NE Gusting 5kts sunny cloud (67%) small risk of a tiny shower, 13 degC.
overnight 6-9kts NE Gusting 10kts cloudy, dry, 8 degC
Sun am 6 kts NE (shifting to N) gusting 7kts sunny - < 20% cloud 10 degC
Sun pm 5 kts N gusting 9 kts sunny - < 10% cloud, 12 degC

So don't forget the midge repellant and sun screen!

I quite fancied this initially, as usual other things came along ( friends heart attacks X2) but the main one was the local primary school fundraiser on the Sunday 14 th which has TONIGHT been cancelled due to the weather forecast !!!!!! FFS

Have a great time, I won't miss the midges but I'd have enjoyed a beer, a cigar and a bit of a natter.

Boat packed ready for the early launch.

I've packed you lads some venison burgers for a bite to eat. I know Gurnard likes a burger, that's if there is any Gurnard left, the midgies tonight are BRUTAL, himself and Kaman will be like dried prunes.

Thanks for the great weekend

Gents,
Superb weekend with decent weather and no midges!
I can tick off my bucket list The Corrievrechan also.
It helps when we are all of reasonable sound body and mind - maybe folks were being polite on the first meeting.
Only problem I have is next weekend will be a hard act to follow
