Just a thought but I'd quite fancy launching at Largs and heading around to Tarbert then SOMEHOW getting to West Tarbert and heading for Jura with the SIB and taking my time especially at the distillery.

We go to Carradale every August with all the family and gear but never get farther than Arrans west side or Campbeltown. Love that whole area.

Mmm... well I think the Vikings managed it... but its quite a big hill and the traffic is bit busier several centuries later which might make wheeling a SIB a bit dodgy...

Agreed Poly but what a trip .

There's so many fantastic destinations in that whole area but there seems to be quite a bit of interest south of the border (200 miles for me to Glasgow) I fancy a southern departure rather than another 50-100 miles for an overnight. I seem to remember driving down to the end of Loch Etive many years ago to be greeted by everyone sat in their cars due to the impressive midge population at the eastern end....

Somebody will have to grasp the nettle and fix a definite date/route for this as she who must be obeyed is already organising my 2015 calender and I've got permission!

Paddlers - dates will be fixed etc in due course. I understand the travel question which was one of the reasons for the thread.

A one night stop for us is not worth it,,, spend more time driving than boating.
Last two years done a 4-5 day wild camp, first Loch Linnhe opposite north west side of Lismore. Then this year Loch na Droma Buidhe in Loch Sunart. So where ever you end up may well be able to join you all.

BOAT LENGTH: 3.8m
ENGINE SIZE: 30hp
LAUNCH: Launch wheels
NO OF PEOPLE: 2
PREFERRED AREA(S): Where ever you end up
PREFERRED MONTH(S): Late MAY / JUNE / Early JULY,,,,,, 8 week window
PREFERRED OVERNIGHT: WILD CAMPING / HOSTEL
