Tuesday Cruise

As of this morning the weather for Tuesday evening looks like F3-F4 easterly, visibility misty (clearing towards 0000), showers (also clearing).

Suggestion: Meet up at Largs YH about 2100; fill up with liquid gold then trundle clockwise around Bute.

Any takers?

Night trip round the Kyles

Hi, just back from our holiday and thought we’d post a quick thanks to Mr & Mrs Grocer.

We had a brilliant trip and couldn’t have asked for better conditions. The Kyles trip has to be the highlight of our holiday and we look forward to many more outings in company.

Thanks again for your company,

Kim, Susan & Gilian

P.S we have a couple of pics if you send me a pm I will send then to you if you’d like

The Kyles, and Other Places

Hmm. Caladh Harbour.

At speed.

In the dark.

For the first time.

Ever.

As we approached, Elspeth said "There's something about the north entrance I remember from the pilot guide..."

"...Oh yes, mind the cairn..."

"...And the perch that's just there."

Points to ponder:

Don't follow anyone into the unknown, especially someone who hasn't been there before either;

I bet that yottie's well upset;

Can we do it again

Other highlights of the evening...

The twilight over Kilbrannan Sound;

Manx shearwaters exploding at right angles to the boat in the dark;

"Inside or outside Inchmarnock?" "I don't mind, I run APB courses out of Portavadie";

Feeding that snotty yottie to the midgies in Largs Yacht Haven

And yes please, we'd love some copies of the photos.

Who were the 3 ribs off Gt. Cumbrae at about 2140?

The 3 ribs bellong to Cumbrae not sure what they were doing.

Yes i did feel an ounce of sympathy for the yachties, but it has passed now lol

Other things we have learnt from our trip

Don't just assume the spare bulbs supplied for nav lights will be the correct ones. - duely replaced with correct type in the morning.

Most importantly - chip shop at Rothesay doesn't stay open late enough lol
