If you were looking at Bowling, would you go as far as Helensburgh?

Two optins there -one by the pier (mind your prop on the shopping trolleys) and a little further round Past the RNYC there's an interesting stone slip by Blairvadach Outdoor centre (Not the centre's slip - it's about 100 yards down the road past the dinghy park) It gets a wee bit slimy below about 2/3 low water (i.e 2/3 out) but I launched / recovered with a Focus there last year with no problems. It's quite narrow so you need to be good at reversing!

The slip at the Inverkip Boat Clun is not really much good-only a bit better than the one at kip . There is a good slip at Cardwell Bay along at the end of Cove Road, and also one along the fromt of gourock at the end of the old paddling pools.

Bad enough?

That slip is, I think, in a carpark which may be perrfic pervy-land?

Trying to be positive but that whole area gives me a bad feeling.
Nope, it's in a residential street and never heard of any trouble there and used it for years..have to admit the trailer that we used would probably look better after a good trashing.. anyway there are plenty other slips to try if your concerned. If security is uppermost then either largs or kip (as far as I'm aware) will let you use their slip, not sure of costs but you can fairly sure your boat will be safe.

I picked these as I'm assuming your travelling from the south.

If you're thinking of going out for the day on the lower Clyde, I'd recommend Largs as the best option.....there's two public slips. One at the North end of the town at the lifeboat station (Parking and groundswell may be an issue), the other public one is at the entrance to Largs Marina...(Can be busy, and dries out at spring tides).

The other option is to pay 7 to launch and recover in the marina at Largs...(all states of tide, good secure parking, access to hot showers and toilets). It is properly set up for small boats, and gives access to all of the areas of the river described.

No offence to any comments that have gone before, but I wouldn't leave my car and trailer at Newark Castle in Greenock if you paid me....

It's all my fault.

The broken weather, that is.

We're just about to depart from home on the long trundle north to Ballachulish to pick up the new style "Cowal". We're supposed to be doing some trials on Friday; but I don't think we'll be venturing far.

Oh well, there's always Kinlochleven.

Or the bar of the Loch Leven Hotel...

So if anyone's passing over the next three evenings..?

Holly mate! You're back!

Still can't find the Dwarf, and Cat's hiding 'cos the smeggin' wind's spoiled his fur-do.

Apart from that, not a lot.

Got any ideas?

I left my Isuzu and trailer outside the gate at Kip marina once on the sand a couple of years ago because the car park was full inside the gate, and some kind person 'keyed' it B*st*rds
