Cheers Chris for the info - It would be good to have you along for the adventure. If you cant make it on this one I'm sure we will sort another trip out in the summer. - I'm still up for that trip to Lundy by the way - I now have the boat and fuel capacity to do it. Might need assistance with launching on the north cost though - I don't have a 4X4.

Just been PM'd by a RIBnet user who has warned me that I should be carefull posting waypoints - with out warning to re-check them (incase i have miss typed any of them etc...)

Good advice I think.

So here is my warning :-

ANYONE USING MY WAYPOINTS TO NAVIGATE IS BARKING MAD IN MY OPINION WHETHER I MISS-TYPED THEM OR NOT.

WORK OUT YOUR OWN !!!!!

Ok Ive added wolf rock as waypoint 20 and created a total of 6 routes 3 there and 3 back (yes i know you can reverse them on the unit)

Ideally I would like to go out via Seven Stones and Back Via Wolf Rock. I have also included the shortest straight line route in case we are running out of time.

Here's a Garmin Data File for anyone with MapSource - At least you should be able to check my waypoints to make sure we don't get shipwrecked anywhere.

All three routes touch the separation scheme to some extent and I've not been too bothered about making sure we are crossing it exactly at right angles. How fussy are they about this - how many degrees away from straight across is allowed when crossing a separation scheme - I'm assuming there is some leeway. If not I will have to add a couple more waypoints in and straighten us up due East/West as we cross it.

I would avoid travelling through Runnel Stone Area, suggest moving your waypoint south of the Runnel Stone Cardinal and add another South of Carn Base West top mark Cardinal.

Any reason for Waypoint 6?

Ok shaggy - just to keep you happy ive moved waypoint 7 and added waypoint 21 to keep us the right side of the cardinal marks - allthough I would like to point out that we are all in 6m RIBS not oil tankers

Yes waypoint 6 is so I can get a photo or two of the minack theatre from the water as we pass. I allready have some of it from land.

All,

your all making me jealous - and I will be in Cornwall with the "Hotrocks" from the 28th.

I wouldnt stress about the crossing, as any avid Ribnet readers will know. I made a 2 crossings last year (1 a solo in a force 8 SE 5m breakers - 4 hours and I did not see a glimpse of land) - I had (can say that now) nil boat experience after only purchasing the boat in Jan.

The crossing is mega and the islands are just the best

Regarding fuel - my Mercury 115hp got through 100l, each way.

So ensure you have a knowledge of your fuel consumption.

OK my boat is fueled and loaded ready to go...

It may be a gtood idea if the rest of you do the same as depending on what day we get the good weather on - the garages may not be open...
