Blimey! This is looking like a lot of boats. I might go the following week. Seriously though, we've found that planning around a date is fraught with problems, most of which being the weather. We do it the other way around. We look for a suitable weather window, then go. Obviously that's easy for us and not for others based 'up country'.
Having said that, May is historically as good a time as any, we usually get some decent weather around that time.
We'll be on for it.

Which beach are you planning on kipping on and why? Bryher is tiny, you might aswell party on the beach and stagger back to the site, which is only a few walled paddocks with a shower/bog.

Hi Mollers, going on the 28th as is a special day,(a year after you are 39) eek, if the weather window is not there, will wait at penzance, but your right chap, the weather is everything, all we can do is wait and see nearer the time,
as for camping ,heading to Bryher as has most of the things im looking for albeit small, very likely camp on the beach for the first night as special eve,( bit of shampers etc) but open to suggestions on exact Bryher location, will be great to meet up,
ps Bring yer fishing rod!!

Am I right in saying all those RIBs have moved onto pastures new? Or is Kernow now the proud owner of a pair?, or should that be the owner of a proud pair?

I know how these things go, all good intentions etc, the good intentions are on my part not yours, so don't want to fully commit myself at the moment but would be very interested in joining you guys funds permitting.
I will have room on my boat, I don't know how you guys do this but if there are people not able to take their boat but want to go then people are welcome to join me.

Most welcome I'm sure!I already pm'd you concernig information on Lundy, which was most helpfull by the way, thanks. So you may well get to meet a few of the retrobates befor Matts birthday bash, when we meet for a Lundy cruise.
IF YOU STILL WANT TO COME!?[and threre'no accounting for taste] the details will become apparent as time draws near, but like Mollers said it pays to be flexable weather being the all-important factor.By the way Welcome to Ribnet!

I had an inkling that wild camping was not permitted on the islands and a bit of googling has confirmed this. So the campsite is probably the way to go. Also, the location for the beach party needs to be selected with care. Byher has a population of only 80.
We have a pretty good relationship with the lady that owns/runs the place and wouldn't want to spoil it. Unlike mainland Cornwall, the Scillies are a very sensitive area and heavily protected.

The free beer might be a bit of an issue.
