I'm home at the end of June so could be keen for a trip then if anyone else is.
How does launching and parking work out in Penzance? I rarely make it further west than Falmouth!
How much fuel did you need to make the trip out Percy and where did you leave from?

MArk
Yes, I parked in the public carpark at Penzance which cost 66 for the car and trailer but be aware that you may need to pick your parking space carefully if you have a big car and trailer. My VW Golf and Roller coaster fitted ok. The slipway is near the sailing club and bus station and does have a bit of a dog leg in it. It is a good slip with a reasonable angle on it.

The cost of fuel for me was under 50 each way as its 43 miles from Penzance to St Marys harbour.

We hired Golf buggies on St Marys for the day which was good fun 40 carried 4 people.

If you do go make sure you post some pics for us all to see.

66 for parking! Whoa! I have a friend about 10 mins up the road who has a farm where I could ask if we could leave cars and trailers for a few days. Assuming we all launched as a flotilla and went over together then we could drop cars/trailers off there and only pay for parking one car!
Just a thought, extra 50+ for petrol each!

Oh one thing before I forget I left my Rib in St Mary's harbour on a mooring which cost 8 a day which is payable to the harbour master.

I asked the Harbour Master what size boat you need to make the crossing from Penzance to the Isles of Scillies to which he replied " It depends on the size of your balls"!!!!! Well 19 foot is quite a ................small boat really

I went over in my Ribcraft 5.3 on the day of the royal wedding. Parked Defender and trailer in IOS Carparking in Wherrytown cost approx 17 a day. Good and easy slip (I am used to the Exmouth front one). Trip over 2 hours in E3. Camped at Garrison for the gig worlds weekend. Sadly due to worsening weather had to return the next day E6 on nose steep seas and doubled fuel consumption 4.5hrs. Crew member seasick in his gecko (forgot to lift visor first)....not pleasant. Fantastic whole body dolphins out the water surfing rib bow wave and puffins. Same weekend that Scillonian was cancelled.
