is your camera waterproof?, can you go down the slip and under the water to see if there are any obstacles?

I'm thinking about doing this as a day trip. Would this trip be suitable for an inexperienced SIBber in a 3.25m Fastroller with Twatsoo 9.8 engine?

Wouldn't want to hold others back.

Thanks for the pics / vid of the slip. Was the vid taken at 8:30 ish? Still looks a bit shallow for me. I reckon I need the depth to be the best part of a metre at the transom when I push it off the trailer. Its a question of how steep the shingle is I guess. Still think I will launch at the sailing club next door, and motor round. If I arrive early, I might just take a little look though....

We are pretty new to this , been out twice in the past few weeks with our newly acquired 3.8 with 15hp smoker but not experienced in any distance travelled or going at speed in the chop, so we will be taking it easy.

Hopefully it will be calm enough to run atleast part way on the plane which equates to about 15knots, though at just off the plane is around 8-9 knots which is probably about the average?
As someone has mentioned I think? The trip is 9nautical miles so should take no more than an hour?

Is this about right guy's?

Pete.

I've not done the trip and I too am fairly new to this. I've got a 3.8 meter SIB too.

You should be fine, safety in numbers and it looks like there's a good few boats going.

Have you got safety kit, life jackets, VHF etc?
