Ribs?

Is this open to 5.6m ribs? it is quite a long drive for me, but if I can persuade my wife to come along, I might be interested. Or would I have to wait for the tide too long to launch at Portland?

Hi, your more than welcome to join.
The slip at Castletown may be a bit tricky at 10.30, (you know your boat best, there will be people there willing to help, the water will probably not be up to the slip, once off the slip, it is a shallow gradient and has larger stones under the water, so the sea bed is uneven, the smaller ribs 4m to 4.5m detach the trailer and push the boat out and pull the trailer back in)

so you may prefer to launch down the road

Key Facilities at WPNSA - Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy I'm not sure of the cost but you don't need to worry about tide, and I believe the cost includes car park.

You can launch at Weymouth Town slip, its nice and there is fresh water, though can get busy and you do have to separate the car and trailer and park the car in the multi story opposite.

BUMP!
just to let every one know we have booked pebble bank going thurs-mon with an intention of launching sat

weather is looking ok too

not heard a peep out of mike (xs400) so i`m assuming he`s good to go

again we are taking our families but haven`t been able to secure a larger rib for them, so the plan is to launch at portland then mooch over to lulworth whilst the wifeys and kids drive to lulworth once we get there we shall transport the families on the sib to the boats . we will then cruise around to durdle door and act like utter teenagers again ..followed off by a hearty meal in teh pub

once again this has the makings of a fantastic day out ,the more the merrier sib or rib

Yup.....I'm in.

Didn't wanna speak too soon, but the weather looks good and rib is all ready!!

Booked campsite for Fri night, unfortunately have to be back Sun AM so prob won't stay Sat night.

Hopefully launching at Castletown won't be a problem for me (4.5m rib), may need a little assistance? If not, I'll launch down the road at the sailing club, and meet up.

I've got some contact details for Bingo, I'll use him for point of contact Fri afternoon.

If anyone needs help to launch, we live directly opposite the slipway. We'll probably stick our boat in early and anchor it up off the beach so will be hanging around :-)
