Salcombe & Cornwall - SIB

Ill be heading down to Salcombe for the Bank Holiday, probably just Cruising round the estuary, depending on the weather. Ive been coming here for years.

From Monday I'll be in Coverack in Cornwall and also in Portmellon from Thursday.

Hoping to get out on the boat a fair bit in each location. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I haven't got a trailer so will be inflating and deflating between locations but i suppose this makes parking easier.

Any suggestions of where to go would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

We were in Salcombe earlier in the summer. Some nice runs out and some great places to stop for a pint/bite to eat. Try the Milbrook at the head of South Pool creek, but keep an eye on the tides. You can get up there and back about a couple of hours either side of high, moor at the jetty and turn right down the lane, over the stepping stones and left into the village. The Ship in Noss Mayo is good too, but it will feel like a reasonably long trip in a sib if you get much weather. If the tide is out make sure to keep to the buoys on the entrance from the sea and just moor on the floating pontoon at the point where the creek splits and get a lift across to the east bank from the ferry man before walking up the lane for 1/2 mile.

Yes Tony. Not with us as such but it was a 700 Supersport with 250 Honda that I took for a quick test. It's for sale. Very nice boat... I'm saving... Not sure that one though.
