Returning to the original subject of the thread....Going on pictures from four years ago...Sunday should be quite a spectacle!

Might be even worse than these though, 20,000 (20thousand) boats expected!

I vote for the Tenby (purely to discuss Route du Rhum of course, in keeping with the thread subject )

That said, the forecast for sunday is starting to improve (F5 early morning quickly decreasing to F2 in the afternoon). Martini II is still in the water, I'd be up for a run down to St.Malo if anyone else is interested?

Sounds fine to me. Both the venue and the possible trip that is. If Mart and Paul want to confirm their attendance at this pre Route du Rhum meeting, then I'll see if I can book a table tomorrow. Just let me know numbers.

I'm up for everything - the evening's nosh up and a trip to see the RdR; let me know what's happening. By the way, I don't drink so if anyone wants a few beers and a lift home then that's fine.

Gotchiguy - are you sure it's 20,000 boats? That sounds more than there is in the whole of the region including the south coast of the UK!

I believe he's prone to exagerating numbers, especially in relation to knots. Just ask Mollers and Bedajim

Can do you a bed if you want. Can't do you a plane though.

Surely an Aquastar doubles up quite nicely as a substitute home. More sumptuous than most flats I'd imagine.

It's not bad at all but he's been living aboard for a couple of weeks now and is looking for excuses to not be there!

I may have two others with me if we go and see the race; just me tomorrow night though. Where and when are we meeting?

The plan is for The Tenby at St Aubins at 1900, however I've been trying to phone them to reserve a table, but it's been engaged for the last hour. Will try again later if not in the morning.

Fingers crossed we actually have a table. Their phone was obviously off the hook from yesterday 'til about 10 mins ago, so I ended up sending a fax. I've just managed to speak to someone for whom English clearly isn't their first language, and after having been told they were fully booked, they then said that we have got a table. We shall see.

Anyway, get ready for some of this

I went twice in the summer and had the best meal I've had in years!
