My wife has decided she wants to come along as a passenger in a rib. Who can supply her a seat in their rib all the way round? She needs to start and finish in Portsmouth harbour or Southampton Water (whichever I end up starting from), so she will need the transfer to / from Cowes as well. That transfer doesn't have to be the same rib as the round the island trip.

I will donate £50 if we can find her a seat.

A 15 year old did it last year on an SR4 with a Yam 40hp

But it depends on the weather

Well that's funny, because I am 15!

What weather conditions would be too much for it to come along (I am not too bothered about a uncomfortable ride )

Sea state will be important (wave height). I would have said "smooth" (up to 0.5 metre) or "slight" (up to 1.25m) would be ok. But I'm not a sr4 expert, others will be able to advise better than me what you and a sr4 could cope with.

Have you bought the Northamptonshire Avon SR4, it looks like it sold this afternoon.

No, bit gutted but hey, there is tons of them on the market. I just don't know if £2000 is enough to get a decent one or whether it is well worth saving up the extra few hundred? The Northamptonshire one, would you say it was a good standard? Because what i don't want to do is dig my self into a money pit.

I would rather invest the money so it lasts. So what do you think?

Persuade someone who knows SR4s to go along with you.

Lots of people on here are very knowledgeable about SR4's and are happy to give advice. I would have struggled deciding which one to buy without their help.
