Looks like Sealskinz are needed! Not sure how you'd get them though - unless you get to an outdoor shop in one of your stop-overs.

I've got some of their thinner cycling gloves which are pretty good and some mittens with fold over finger cover for the winter.

Let's just say. Mine doesn't look like that when I'm wet for a long time but I was watching a program about chimps that bath in china and that pic looks a lot like that

The weather for the south east looks great for the weekend save some cloud cover.

I'm planning on launching Friday so if you're on schedule (and assuming I'm invited) I can run from Ramsgae with you guys down to Eastbourne or Brighton Sunday before turning back.

If any other RIBnetters wanted to come up, I can help with launching and trailer storage.

The'll also be a couple spare seats on ballistic if anyone fancies it.

Just a heads up. Looks like we may be one day behind by the time we reach you. Thinking of having a half day tomorrow to see if the Targas can catch up.

Yup, suspected that - plus Caledonian in 1 day is keen - does it look likely?

There is a slim chance they will make Inverness but completing the canal looks doubtful.

Had a blast with them today, some lurvely looking RIBs and a really nice bunch of folk too.

The Targas are settling in for the night in Corpach basin at the first lift on the canal. They are both limping a little bit but still going. They should all be together by tomorrow night if the traffic isn't too bad on the canal.

Arrival this morning was a bit damp and miserable and to make matters worse they experienced the Scottish midgies in attack mode. By lunchtime the weather had changed and the sun came out. Time to get the hammer down.
