We did this in Black Rib(3 on board) with yamaha 115.Used 100 litres but this was very thirsty engine. Sea conditions vary a lot on way round - it was good fun - took about 3and a half hours. Can we come with Wave Dance this time? Dying to get on water but everytime we plan to go to coast it snows!!! Hopefully not on 27th!
P.S. Does anyone know if Menai slip is suitable for us to lauch boat with our campervan and would we be able to leave van at the boatyard?

As far as I know, the Menai slip at Porth Daniel is concrete all the way down, but access to it is a little bit tight. I've always found parking to be a bit limited.

It can also get very slippy, especially towards low water. But might just be my crap driving.

Will try and make it over and will probably have a spare seat if needed Tim.

Leaving the Rib

If you give Terry a call at Porth Daniel boat storage on: 01248 717784 tell him what you are doing, I'm sure he can fix you up for the night with the storage. He will also recommend local B+Bs etc.

There is plenty "pay & display" type parking aprox 250m away just off the main high street.....Your right, parking is limited in the slip area and its getting worse now that there is developments of the old buildings into posh holiday homes!!.

You could launch in Conwy, stay in one of the many hotels/b+bs and leave you boat in the marina, aprox £15 per night

I’ve been checking various forecasts for Sundays weather including:

Magicseaweed - http://magicseaweed.com/Anglesey-Surf-Report/37/
Accuweather http://www.accuweather.com/ukie/fore...208AA&metric=1
And the bbc - http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2541

The reports are not definitive by any means but it looks like a SSW 15 – 20 mph wind, (BBC say 7mph) overcast, with possible showers especially later on in the afternoon (although its changing on a daily basis).

Can I suggest for those that are in a position to decide on Saturday, we decide then. I will be on the island most of the weekend.
For those of you that need to decide today or tomorrow – you take the gamble!

If anyone has heard any other forecasts or know of any other good sites for forecasts, let me know.

Latest count is as follows:

2- Jono - Yes
3- Andy JC - Yes
4- Bedajim - Yes
5- Ribster Rache - Yes
6- Tom banana - Yes
7- Martha Focker - ?
8- Floater - No (at the moment although may change)
9- Cookie - Yes – launching from Conwy.
10- Davidgriffiths - 50:50 chance
11- yoyo - No
12- GED - ?
13- Stul - Part or all of trip.

Thoughts?

I was just thinking the weather is looking better for the Sunday!
Will keep an eye on it.

I'll have limited internet access from about 5pm tonight but hopefully be on tomorrow to see what the final decision is.

If we go Saturday, any chance of setting off a bit late say 11am. Otherwise probably will not be able to get there in time.

Thanks

Do you think the weather looks better for Saturday? It was not my intention to go Saturday but if this is more convenient for people and the weather looks promising then so be it.
I know Jono cannot do this though.
