Might have to get rib kid to swim out and get our boat seeing as the dinghy's gone. Grrrrr

Any chance for he or Tony to show off the dry suits though heh!

Reckon they sleep in them, ready to go at any time. Though not after a few rusty nails!!

Cheers martini, though it didn't in may and I just got back from a week in Toulouse.... And it rained every day, in July, would you believe it. I'm no sun bringer!!

Telcosteve. More the merrier. Intending to go around island clockwise, but if poor just go round to moelfre and or Conwy river. Keep us posted.

fuel in Menai Bridge by car, or by boat in Menai Bridge by Porth Daniel at harbourside, but more expensive. Fuel in Beaumaris, by car, 2 miles at most from Gazelle, or by boat, walk up the beach with cans.

Glad you can make it, it will be fun, even if it is bad weather, with us all in the pub.

High tide is about 3.05pm Menai Bridge. (Seem to have a few different times from3.05-3.37. Anyone else clarify this?)

I'm hoping to get to Moelfre for 1pm (Yoyo seems to think it all kicks off about then).

Do we set off clockwise and go through bridges/caernarvon sandbanks and bar at v low water, to get the 4 hours in/60mile round trip to Moelfre by 1pm. Risking it being lumpy and not making the lifeboat display. We could have to turn back by Stacks/Holyhead, the most likely place for rough water. We would never make it back to Moelfre by 1pm as it is the opposite side to the island. Remember there are 5.5m ribs, so even a fair chop will slow us down. Remember the return from Morfa Nefyn!!

Or set off at 11.30pm and head anticlockwise to Moelfre, ensuring arrival by 1pm even if lumpy, 15-20 miles, to watch the display. Grab some lunch then if it is fine weather we carry on, nailing it round arriving back at 5-6pm. Or if obviously poor, we head back up straits past puffin island, battle seas, then head up to Caernarvon through straits for a cruise past the beautiful scenery and play on sand bar if horrible, and or beer in Caernarvon, before heading back to Gazelle.

Any thoughts? My priority to be honest is Moelfre. I'd lean to the latter plan, going there first and making a judgemen on circumnavigation, however this started with round Island and if that is others' priority we'd be best trying to nail that in the main part of the day with plenty of time to spare.

With a fair chop, you can slow a 5.5m boat to 10mph v easily and that would then take 8 hours. It would be long and painful. With the latter plan, we ensure we make the display, with fun and laughter even if rough for 15-20 miles, then head back or completer our mission if it is calm.

I think i am answering my own question. But REALLY WANT OTHERS' OPINIONS!

If weather is like glass, the latter and former plans work. If weather is medium (its always worse somewhere else on the island) the latter works but the former doesnt.

Decision-making is probably better done on the actual day Paul if everyone agrees to that.

Trouble is, Chris at ty calch and Nitrox at bull bay I guess would need to know which way we're going.

We could phone either of you at 10.30 to give our decision if you PM a number. Time then for either to get to gazelle by 11.00 ish
