Yeah you raise a good point about maybe turning back and it been even further. I'll work out what I'm going to take. We only did 15 miles on the straits last time before the constant pounding made us turn back. Fingers crossed for this one.

Round Anglesey for Macmillan 14/15 May 2016

If it's calm you'll be fine. If it's not, as long as there's a couple of you to buddy up, you'll be fine.

We had a 4m wooden catamaran come around with us in awful weather two years ago with a 30hp on the back. Though he was a very experienced offshore skipper. He was ahead of many another boat, skipping off the tops of the waves.

The year before that two crazy Irish dudes cone around in a sub 4m tillered SIB, wearing swimming goggles!!!! they were pushing the boundaries of safety in my eyes, but they made it.

Not to mention the Boudaries of Sanity as I remember! Still..."Good Ol boys" who showed a few what a bit of Hypalon some Air and Big Balls really CAN do!!
It did help to be in a pretty large Armada too
Think they needed those swimming Goggles most of the Trip!

To be fair, at one point exiting out of Holyhead round to Middle mouse with wind over tide, there were three 6m plus ribs alongside each other in front of them trying to take the crests off the waves!

Only two weeks to go!

Well the countdown is on with only two weeks to go. Been out the past two Saturdays and it has been cold. It cant be this cold in two weeks. Just waiting for that high pressure to build and hopefully we will get a nice calm run round!
