Oops ABC Marine at Beaumaris is not really useful for fuel stop as it is situated near the beginning and end of the cruise. We have used it when starting from Holyhead as it is approximately 1/2 way - SORRY!!

There is fuel available in Trearddur Bay at the Service Station which is approximately 300 -400 yards from the beach. Trearddur is approximately at the half way point.

There's a couple of places in the Menai where you can fill with cans apart from Beaumaris, but by the time we're there, thats 90% of the trip over and you don't want to be coming over Caernarvon bar or through the Swellies short on fuel. I've got some spare 5gal jerry cans if anyone needs them.

Cruise around the Isle of Anglesey

[QUOTE=Ribster Rache] Is there anyone interested in a day cruise from Conway to Caernarfon via Beaumaris and Menai on Saturday 14th May 2005?

Due to the overwhelming interest in the cruise on the 14th May as all the posts have favoured a larger trip around the Isle of Anglesey that's what we shall now be doing.

We will be passing Caenarfon but probably just waving at it at 40 knots!

Perhaps it would be worthwhile asking JK to rename the thread 'Round Anglesey cruise' - might get even more interest.

< Edit: Tada! JK >

edit: just noticed it's listed as such at the bottom of the forum main page!

Kit List

On the basis that I may now join the fun... (parents in law to the rescue!) I thought I should remind everyone of a vital piece of kit.

Launching at Conwy can cost (if the attendant is there in his box). He requires 13 (I think that was last year's fee) and you must show evidence of insurance. Without this you aint going anywhere!!

Cheers

Nice one Peter, so the flowers worked then?
So far I've got one experienced crew member and a couple trying to drop other commitments
Thanks for the reminder on insurance etc. do you know if they have also introduced boat registration like other launch slips in the area?

Apologies to all concerned but I won't be able to make it. I'm in Norway next week and I've just been told that my return ferry from Stavanger won't be sailing until 5pm on the 14th.

Bummer.
