RIOW accomodation and launching?

Hi everyone

It's looking increasingly likely that we can make the RIOW in aid of macmillan as our maiden sea voyage which is quite apt as a close friend of mine has been helped my macmillan recently and probably will need more help soon.

However I don't know the area very well at all being from the midlands so does anyone have a recommendation for a B&B with somewhere safe to park the rib overnight? Also where would be the best place to launch on the Saturday morning? Were planning to go round with team Scooby as I think cruising at 30knots on our first outing is a bit ambitious.

Many thanks for any advice
Cheers
Rob

We (and lots of others) are launching at Calshot. We're coming down on Saturday morning and will launch for a few hours of playtime in Saturday afternoon. Planning on leaving the boat on its trailer at Calshot ready for the cruise on Sunday.
Lots of b&b around, ours it about 3 miles from Calshot.
Have areas through the main thread for some other ideas.

Plus one but we're travelling down on the Friday and have boat storage arranged at Calshot Activity Centre.

Staying at Walcott lodge in Fawley for three nights but I think they're probably booked solid now? Worth a try though.

Thanks for all the info, I think were sorted now, launching at Calshot as well and have managed to get a B&B sorted for Sat night as well. Can't get there till Sat evening though so will have to give the Saturday play time a miss I'm afraid.

Lady at the B&B said she thought some other guest mentioned boats as well so if anyone is stopping at the Langley village guest house we may see you there.

Cheers
Rob
