Ribnet gathering 2009?

Is anything planned? I have noticed there is usually a big meet sometime in the summer.
If a date and location is known that is all that is requested to make sure I can come next year.
Anybody have a plan in mind?

That's easy. You decide the location and date and then tell everyone. You've got some of the best cruising anywhere in the UK round you, and it might make a welcome change from the Solent for a lot of people.

There wasn't really a big "official" gathering this year, so maybe there will be some good interest for next year. Scotland would be great.

Thanks for volunteering!

John

Bruce, if Scotland is a go-er I don't mind helping pull something together.

I am already committed to organising the Orkney North Islands in June, to which others are welcome to come.
I was actually hoping for a southern trip myself, wales or the IOM would be nice.

How about a bit of a haul? All meet at Luce Bay, not a million miles from Stranraer (or maybe Loch Ryan?) and head over to Bangor Marina N/Ireland. Leave RIB's on visitors berths and get B&B's for the night and get fhit saced? Then back again next day.
Very rough stretch of water but with the right planning and enough fuel would be worth it.

Trailing her 'up North', or is petrol cheap enough to go all the way by sea?

I would be interested in this as a day raid across. Accom wouldn't be a problem as all that we would need would be a berth for the day to go watch the TT.
It would be worth a trip across just for that alone........

I read an article a couple of years ago about a commercial RIB skipper taking a couple of guys & their RS125s across on a 6m-ish Ribtec, when the ferry was fully booked. They had to take the footpegs off to stop them poking into the toobs
