We could debate the issue for months. We could have a poll. We could even (god forbid) form a committee. But is that what we want?
If anyone is prepeared to put in some effort to facilitate the gathering, then the venue will be their choice. Whatever the location some people will join in, and others won't. If we have people who want to get people together in Swansea and
Inverkip we'll have two RIBnet conferences this year. We may even have another at RIBEX.
No RIBnet "event" is official. It's what anyone wants it to be. For anyone thinking that a conference has a timetable, an agenda and a programme of speakers -- you've got the wrong end of the stick
FWIW I quite fancy an excuse to get up to Scotland for a few days, and I have friends who live on Gower who I'd like to see, so either of the current suggested venues would be fine with me.
Having said that, it's traditional for me not to be able to attend due to work commitments so it probably won't make any difference . . .
