Somewhere about 50 secs into this video there's a shot of the fuel pump. Looks like Gasole and Essence to me, but I 've replayed it so many times trying to be certain that my eyes have gone blurry.

I am sure you have been through YBW with a fine-toothed comb, and this is four years old info, but:

"In May Le Havre's pumps had broken down. Honfleur does not supply fuel. Fortunately we had enough to get to Rouen which is the first fuelling point up the river. Euros 1.40/litre in May.

Next stop is PK121 at Port de l'ilon. Euoros 1.36/litre.

Travelling at slow speed we then had enough to get to Paris and back to the Rouen stop. Incidentally Rouen is not open on a Sunday.

Remember it is 223 miles from Honfleur to Paris. Calculate your usage carefully and follow the Navicarte. Have fun it is a great trip. Don't miss out on Monet's house & garden at Vernon/Giverny."

Looks like Roeun port de plaisance doesn't have fuel yet no fuel here but I will email them anyway.

Le Havre sells 95 and 98 octane petrol 24hrs a day; I phoned the marina to confirm this last week. I think we must make plans for road-side fill ups as there's no guarentee that the Port d'Ilon will be open or able to supply 1,000 litres of petrol. I'll be taking 4x25 litre cans and a trolley. Any road-side refuelling will take ages; we must take this into account.

GD broached the idea of being able to play shorebased support crew last night...... Couple of those 100 litre tanks in the back of the car and a siphon pump could sort out the problem quite easily.....

Blimey, that's very generous of him. The easiest thing to do would be to meet somewhere en route and take our jerry cans to the nearest garage for us. That way, no one would have to buy any big tanks or mess around sucking petrol.

It sure isn't a definite but he did mention the possibility of it. We would of course be attending but apparently there is something called GCSEs only a couple of weeks after it. It is only 4 hours to Paris from Dinard so we could potentially meet anywhere/do anything. We'd only really have to meet once wouldn't we. If the three of us came we GD and myself could hitch a lift while GM did went on ahead and spent the afternoon in Paris as we approached? Then we could organise fuel as necessary. Just an idea though, of course

Well, as I said that's a very kind provisional offer that could end up saving the day. The availability of fuel is critical on this trip and any help getting it would be appreciated by all of us. Tell GD that I'll pilot him to MStM by way of a thank you.

GD thanks you for the offer but is apprehensive
We'll see what happens, but we would love to try and help out in any way we can, if it wasn't 'cos of GCSEs I'm sure we'll be joining you. Assuming Into the Red goes into the water at Easter we will definitely be around we could join you for a pre or post dinner/lunch on Jersey or Le Havre I guess. I will do my best to encourage him anyway

That's my problem: even if I get the necessary pass out from Mrs A, what are the chances of there being good weather windows on the Friday for the Channel crossing to Alderney, the Saturday for the crossing to Honfleur and similar windows a week or eight days later for the return? In April!

Bad weather on the outward trip could be got around by a direct trip Poole -Le Havre on the Saturday and the same on the return - but solo in a single boat?
