David, well done . Another great Nacho Run. Not the best weather but at least no rain, snow and wind. The chop in the Solent was acceptable.

Yesterday morning we had our first snow and to be packing boating gear into the car was most unusual

here are a few shots

I will post a few film clips when I get round to editing my GoPro

Many thanks to all of you who turned out yesterday to support what was a thoroughly enjoyable and well-attended event. The weather held good (for mid-January!) and the chop in both the Solent and across Poole Bay made for some more interesting but not too demanding helming. I was pleased (contrary to previous years) to be able to socialise and speak to old friends and meet new ones so that, hopefully, there will be even more familiar faces for me at future rallies.

I have sent an e-mail to The Wheatsheaf to thank them on behalf of us all for their excellent hospitality and efficient service in the face of somewhat overwhelming numbers requiring food (and drink!) at the same time. The Nachos I thought were particularly fine, as was the Fuggle-de-Dum (local Best Bitter). I am told that their Guinness is the finest on the island, although was too taken by the Fuggle-de-Dum to try any!

It was nice to meet up with Superfly and her crew (why haven't we met before?) and do the run over to Yarmouth together from Poole. Sorry we weren't ready for the return trip when you were but thanks to Tony in the Technohull for catching up with us and shadowing us back to Poole. We actually beat them back to the harbour entrance (although I don't think they were trying too hard!).

From the feedback at the Meet, there seems to be interest in more such events at different venues around the area. I'm happy to organise these if there is sufficient demand (not everyone has to attend each one but I was wondering if a monthly Meet might be of interest?). Let me know what you think (generally not a problem on Ribnet!).

All the best

David

Monthly meet would be good. It's always nice to have a purpose (excuse) to get out!

Sorry I did not make this one, I have a pile of excuses, but this sad item is the main one. Glad all went well.

Gutted we couldn't make it. Had to get the boat up onto its floating dock to drain out bilge water and missed the tide.

Roll on summer.
