Well back in the loop at long last. Boat a little smaller(4.5 Valiant) but it should get us there. Will probably be told to read the thread but we are available both dates-anyone launching from Calshot?
regards

Right, let's plump for the weekend of July 7th with July 8th as back-up date if the weather is awful. Just double-checked and this date seems to suit most people (crossing fingers).

Here's some idea of the agenda from last year!

People definitely interested so far :

Andre & Wiesia & 3 othes (Wendy/Steve, Phil Chitty & the gang?Does this suit your plans Andre?) tbc
Antoinette & Martin
Biggles
Chris1573 & clan
Hightower
Hugh Jardon & clan
Ian M (good ball skills ) & crew
Lewy
Matt H
Nauti Buoy (twin-engined versadock)
Neil Harvey x 2 tbc
Noddy (Ann & Martyn) dudes
NOs4R2
Pete, Viv, Andrew & Susie (all teenagers )
Peter J and clan
RJH & teens
Robin & Gill (approaching East Head under sail)
Sixy_the_Red (in charge of Nos)
Stingray might get out!!! (also birthday boy!!!)
The Jackeens
Tim M, Jules, James, Jimbo, Dave and 500 other studenty lots (in one RIB)
Warners, friends & teens
Zippy & other 1/2

Please consult with your diaries and get planning!!! Plenty of time yet to join in also so please add names if you fancy a blast. RIBnet cruise as usual open to all. Please check RIBnet guidelines.

Also. post any corrections, omissions etc. as we go along.

More detail in the next few weeks:

weather prospects
who's launching where to facilitate 'buddy-boating'
things to bring

Bit of a heads-up that some people fancy staying over & there is a campsite at Nodes Point

This may be the most convenient?

Hi Kath and Paul
We are interested in staying over - where is the camp site?
Do we walk from Priory Bay or can we Tie up alongside somewhere within walking distance?
Its a long way back to Calshot.
regards

It certainly is a long trek back to Calshot. A few of us are planning to stay over Martyn and Ann. Details of the nearest campsite is here : Nodes Point.

As for mooring we did leave Merlin in Priory Bay overnight last year but wouldn't really recommend that. (No sleep for Paul!!!) Far better in Bembridge for example.

Will do some more research for weekenders and will post soon. Martin Humphrey (MHumphrey on here) has been extremely helpful There will more than likely be at least one car amongst us invaders.

It will be great to see ye again,

Kathleen & Paul

Thanks Kath and Paul
Been away the last week so unable to reply.
We would be interested in The Bembridge/Nodes Point option and will look forward to getting more info.
Hope to see you all again soon

Hi Kathlene & Paul,

OK, you talked me into it..... Please put me down as highly interested!

I'm actually down in Cornwall (Fowey) the preceding week with my wife, Sheila and two American friends of ours.

We'll be towing back from there on Friday but I don't see whey we can't detour and stop an extra night in Portsmouth on the way back.... and join you for Saturday!

Not quite sure how we'll organise the picnic...... but at least we can say hi!
