So who is committed to camp then ?

Please say so now. It was pretty lonely last year.

Welcome to RibNet,
Yoou can normally contact people on ch 77 on these cruises, or someone planning on doing the round island might pm their mobile if they're feeling friendly (usually are).
Thanks mate, we have a 3 day card for the week so will book the sunday if we can meet up with anyone. I am online till the end of tomorrow but maybe without t'internet after then ;-)

Jim,

I must say at this time I don't think I'll be doing the round the island jaunt.

However I am planning to stay overnight, Don't know why because I hated it last year. If I remember right the weather was pretty pants last year as well.

If you get no other action for the Sunday a couple of us will be in the area of the Eastern Forts on Sunday enjoying whatever the Solent has to offer.

Nick.
Thanks again. Don't know the area too well (from sheffield but studying the charts for SOlent) but will go searching for RIBS and if i shout Biggles enough times I may find you :-)

Cheers Liz! And apologies! Will edit on next update.

(You may need to carry a whip on board to keep 'em all in order now.
2nd main use of whip: testing water depth to safeguard prop )

If there's any drinking to be done then we should be around on Saturday night though!

Harry.
Harry and Dave, that's great news! Please include a government health warning with the desperados

Neil, hope you've got the info you need. If anyone else needs a lift from Camber / Haslar then Nauti or ourselves will be happy to run across.

We are quite prepared to contribute to food drink etc so just let us know?Failing that we will pay our way as our space onboard is limited.
What sort of time is everyone arriving?
Still cant find anyone launching from Calshot?

Hi Martyn & Ann,

We can recommend camping at Nodes Point nearby. We hope to have our tent pitched by tomorrow evening! We will pack a few extra provisions for sharing so no worries about Robinson Crusoe starvation conditions
If sea conditions are concerning for you at all with the new boat, then we'd be happy to go back along the Solent to meet & run alongside. We have happy memories of the last time Otherwise you could perhaps link with Neil & Karen?
We'll be there whatever time (but not too early!!!) and the Hard Core may well be there 'till late.

We're quite new to ribbing but have done level 2 so know a little. A chance to cruise with you guys would be great.

Let me know if we could meet you either as you pass Lymington or from Priory and how we can get in touch

Cheers Jim
Hi Jim

What length boat will you hire? And is it bareboat or with skipper? Our keenness to run round the Island will no doubt be weather dependent but for sure some of us will still be in the Priory Bay area on Sunday. (If it's dry with just a South westerly for example, skippers may plan a run to Ventnor which would be a good run from Lymington.) Paul's mobile is 07790 551442 and as Neil has said RIBnet cruises tend to use comms Chn 77.
If anyone else is happy to have a mobile number in the public domain then please post.

I must admit I thought what Kathleen and Paul did last year was a bit of a copout.

They stayed in a nice Hotel in Priory Bay.

Plus marks for leaving the boat at anchor in the bay though. And plus marks for making sure the mass of rubbish got correctly disposed.

Nick.
Nick wotareyoulike?

It was a splurge for Paul's birthday But we will be pitching the tent this year. Now you can't talk as the wind demolished your camp by midnight and you'd all vanished home to your comfy beds by 4.00

Mooring at Priory worked out fine. Except Paul didn't sleep a wink and got up several times to check the boat.

(Bit of a saddo I did spend several hours on the Sunday collecting rubbish off the beach (no I didn't try to sell any of it on EBAy ) so will bring a few binbags to share this time. )

BTW Keen Campers include
Biggles
Martyn & Ann
Nauti & Sarah
Us
Anyone else packing a tent?

Will post a list of provisions we are thinking of bringing soon. All other suggestions welcome! Keep posting any other ideas & we'll do a summary post for printing off & to save you reading back at all. At all.

It's a 6.5M and it is bareboat yes from solentribs. Cheers for the info, I'll jot Pauls number down and if we get the boat on Sunday and the weathers good we'll track you down by phone or 77.
Ventor looks like a good trip round the island! Hope to catch you guys there maybe
Cheers Jim

Gill and myself will bow out of this one now.

Want to travel to the West Country early saturday morning to view a boat.

Slim chance of making it back by sunday, particularly if I stay there for the Bank to open on monday to hand over large wadges of cash.

See you next time

Have a great trip all.

Oooh thats a fib, It was at least 0410 hrs. First light was at 0400 hrs and it took at least ten minutes to find all the bits of Jimbo's tent.
