Port Edgar to the Bass Rock 17th

There is a plan afoot to cruse from Port Edgar to the Bass Rock this Saturday (the 17th) we are looking to leave Port Edgar around 9ish and meet up with the rest out by inchcolm island some time later.

All welcome and looking at the forecast bring your sunglasses.

Looks like 60nm there and back.

PS: and a beer stop along the way.

My plan is to meet Matt at DBSC around (9am) and launch from DB. Matt we can use my car to pop your boat in too (not sure if you got that PM yesterday - computer was doing funny things). I assume we are meeting Fraser on the water.

I will have around 40L of fuel which I *think* should be enough. In the event that I have used 1/2 (or more) of that when we get out to bass rock, then there are petrol stations close to the shore at Mussleburgh and Portobello.

Forecast is for light rain, SW F3 (although direction and speed vary from S through to W, and 5-13mph depending who you listen to). Wave heights are supposed to be just 10cm in the morning rising to 30cm in the afternoon - I bet I can still get it to come over the bow.

See you tomorrow.

Neil

yep

tomorrow cool

thanks for the offer but just going to push the RIB into the water will get the trailer out later with the tractor?

Yep just been down to fill the tanks so should be fine and have some in cans too.

Fraser is meating us at DB too

have almost given up with the online forecasts…talk about contradiction.

Thanks guys -excellent day out - did you get any good photos - I decided not to take the camera out as it is the wifes and I didn't want to risk it going the same route as Matt's trailer.

Have consulted Yamaha manual and almost certain that the alarm was just telling me to top up the 2 stroke oil.

I think I used about 20-25 L in total, going by how much is still in the tank - which is almost 1/2 of what I predicted so I am delighted - especially as the return leg was a little more agressive on the throttle.
