Matt,

I don't think fuel will be that much of a problem if its a nice day. Biggest problem will be the sea state to make it a nice cruise and me being able to get up early on my only day off over christmas and New Year.

My last trip round the IOW only took 55 litres so if I bring some cans I should be okay.

Well...after the absolute blast we had yesterday in the Solent it looks like my boat needs a bit of work. I also need some parts that I won't be able to get hold of til after new year now. Looks like I'm going to have to cry off
Sorry guys-I don't have any option.

Yeh,

Matt you looked good to me. No obvious problems visible. Mind you it was dark when we landed. Haven't checked mine in daylight yet. And I have lost something. Hopefully its hidden itslef on the boat and will show itself when i get chance to sort the boat out in daylight on Tuesday.

I didn't realise how much damage had happened until I looked at it yesterday

The damage is mostly electrical-when my battery came adrift on the way over it wore the insulation off a couple of wires and broke the nav light wiring as well as smashing the base of the bilge pump.
Unfortunately where it's gone through isn't anywhere I can cut/join it without water ingress so I'm going to have to rewire half the boat. Luckily it didn't damage the control loom.

I need to get 2 more waterproof connectors as well-The nav light connector needed replacing anyway but was totalled by the battery and the one on my VHF has had water in it and has gone furry. I could receive but not transmit due to bad contacts all Saturday. I don't have a working radio until I fix it.

Matt,

Might not seem like much consolotion but I'm sure a man of your talents can sort that. I must admit at first I thought you maybe had tube or hull damage.

Check your PMs my offer still stands.

Nick.

just doing a trawl for potential numbers.

I'm going if the weather is satisfactory and will be launching from Poole.

Rickuk3 is going but not too sure of launching details.

Ian and Chris registered an interest earlier are you still interested ?

Regards Nick R.

mentioned this to the other half at the weekend, and we'd like to come.

After the last aborted attempt at getting to Poole, hope we can make it this time. Boat worked on portable tanks instead of the internal, so replaced the water seperator and hoping that has fixed things, but at least I know I can use the portablle tanks if all else fails.

What time are you thinking of launching?

Might need to find somewhere to stay new years eve depending on launch time.

Cheers

Neil
