I agree but its not just that mate, tide times in Plymouth are 07:40 and 1957 on Saturday so launching/recovery from any of the slips will not be ideal for my timings, its ok for you on Drystack

And anyway, there's a big local derby not far from you, that I'm tempted to take my lad too

Back with the tide maybe but the wind is forecast at 15 to 20 knots on the nose ENE for the return. I went sailing out of Plymouth two weeks ago, same temperatures, only 5 kts and I was bl**dy frozen. If its the same temperature count me out. At my age I need nourishment not punishment, sorry.

Hi all

I have been watching this thread with interest as I was hoping to launch my RIB from Falmouth and travel up to Fowey for the day. Unfortunately I am working Sat and looking at the weather Sat is going to be the best day of the Easter break.
Strong ESE winds on Fri and again on Sun,Mon.
I would say you will have some sun on Sat with the wind backing around to the NNE for a time during the day. In the Sun expect 6-7 degrees if it stays cloudy nearer to 5 degrees you will also have a mod chop and swell away from the coast but it should be sheltered close inshore.
I was Gig rowing in Falmouth bay yesterday and it was interesting at 6 knots.

Backing out? I do hope not.

However if it's horrible then it does become no fun out at sea.

I'm more than happy for a run around the Sound and a burger from Bovi or Captain Jaspers.

Watching the weather intently so I suggest we'll make the call Friday night as to the plan??

All that wind with an 'E' in it will send an 'orrible swell down Channel. Heading East, up Channel out of here would be uncomfortable to say the least.
