Osprey and Vipermax cruise round the IOW - Weekend 21/22 July 2007 tbc

As we seem to be growing in numbers it would be great to have a cruise round the IOW again this summer. It would be great if we can dominate the event with all those Ospreys that have been recently purchased and built but to be honest it will be an open cruise for anyone.

I am thinking some time in july, maybe later july to allow some of the current build projects to finish, we could even make a weekend of it for folks travelling some distance so we can go out on the Sat and Sun. and use the sunday for the trip round the island in the am if the weather is best that day

whos up for it?

Me, if it's not weekend of 15th July, cos I'll be in Portugal again.
But only since non-Ospreys are welcome

I doubt mine will be ready in time for july, but if it where to be in August then there would be a much greater chance of comming along. I'm about 4 weeks from delivery, a weeks fitout prior to outboard rigging and then a week or so till I get all those bits and peices bolted on.

how about 21/22July as a date for the diary

Tides at calshot are..

http://www.isleofwightweather.co.uk/...shot200707.htm

low tide at calshot are around 10-11ish

does the 21/22 july look good for folks? does that date clash with any other events that may make it an issue in the area?

we could do the following...

saturday bbq at a local beach some where, lazy day, suggest east head by entrance to chichester harbour, nice beach there etc

sunday morning trip round the IOW, then late lunch in Yarmouth or cowes/folly, we went clockwise last time so could do anti clockwise this time. or decide on day depending on conditions

21/22 July

we have a small flotilla of Ospreys and some others as well, ideally we want to have as many ospreys as other boats on this cruise, i am not sure there has been a cruise when ospreys have been in the majority when there has been 6+ boats.

those interested are as follows:

Hugh jardon, +1, kids at grans, osprey vipermax
Bedajim, +1, osprey vipermax
Top Banana, +1?, osprey vipermax
Hightower, +1?, osprey vipermax, if boat finished
Down Hill Dai, +1, osprey vipermax, if not on hols and boat finished
Neil Harvey, +1, Shakespere 720
Biggles, +1?, Ribcraft
The Edges, +1?, Ribcraft
Jono, +1?, Camel

If weather good then...

21st july for bbq on beach somewhere and trips out
22nd july am for trip round iow, then lunch

anyone is welcome to join

Chris,
I think that I will have to sit this one out, work has delayed progress and I do not think that The boat will be ready in time. Have a good day.

I for sure, can't make the date in July. The Hull won't be finished till a week on Friday and then goes for tubes.

Chase them on the tubes as two weeks can stretch into 6
