NW Ribsters - 12th November: Liverpool Bay Wind farms - Menai Bridge & Conway Launch

After a great turn out for the Port Meirion and Bardsey Cruise, whos up for Liverpool Bay Windfarms?

Plan is to launch from the all state of tide slip at Menai Bridge or the slip at Conwy.

If the weather is sh 1 t we can always cruise the straits and play on Caenarfon Bar.

Hope the weather turns up trumps and I get there

Hi

We will stick to the 12th November then.

Looking like a 60nm ish cruise if we do the wind farms and 25nm ish if the weather is bad and we do the straits, there is no fuel on the water at Menai Bridge, so you may need to fuel up if we meet at 11-11.30 for a 12 midday set off?

Anyone else up for this?

If these lows keep rolling in, it looking like a good play on the menai straits and can' bar. With lunch along the way somwhere.

11-11.30 for a 12 midday set off? - Menai Bridge Slip

I'm not going to the wind farms as force 8's forecast, just a play on the straits.

Jono does a bit of scuba diving

NW Ribsters day out on the Straits started well, 6 ribs turned out including Jono in his 'Australian' rib with a brand new engine.
We steamed along the Straits, passing Caernarfon then we hit the bar...... renowned for large waves, only suitable for experienced and capable rib captains.
Within 5 minutes of commencing brave and daring wave jumping, Jono's luck ran out, his Australian rib orientated itself and he ended up taking a closer look at the fish.
The surviving ribs collected all of his floating belongings and a rather damp jono and friend were plucked out of the water.
He skillfully righted his boat and was towed back to Menai Bridge.
I think he's still in his workshop sorting the engine out.
Shame he missed the rest of the day, the waves were much better above the water line.
