The Calf Sound

Brian

The Calf Sound is all right.....as long as you know where the channel is!

It's good fun off the Chicken Rock lighthouse and Langness Peninsula too.

Hi folks

We are still on, just need to get the boat up from south wales before then (yes still Dave ) but dont see that as a problem.

Still dont know how many of us are going, prob not till the day before but either way will have some space for extra kit on our boat.

As far a fuel goes, we may need diesel if we go via Conway.
Whats your thought Dave go to Conway then across, or meet up part way over. I am easy either way.
But either way I will fill up, so count me in for at least a few gallon on red diesel.

Lets just hope for some better weather, upto now its been totaly crap. Was done Milford aven this weekend and even the 9.0M Ribcraft's the tourist guys run was cancelling all the trips.

Regards Gary

(I just want to get my RIB home )

Possible split tack start!
As a large number of folk on the trip live in NW England and the others in North Wales, it has been suggested that Knott End is an alternative launch site.
It would make sense due to distances and times, and would enable the two groups to meet up at a pre arranged Waypoint and approach Douglas as one group.
What are your thoughts? It would still enable the initial groups to number 3 or four RIBS.
Sounds good to me and would allow local tripping if the weather turns against us.
Let us all know what you think.
Thanks
Ian

Her indoors has spocken and bailed.

Unfortunatly we are bailing as we have a last minit deal on Tenerife for the wk before hand and then the poker run in Southampton on the 20th june weekend.

The Isle of man is a great place and as a cruising ground.

I have cancelled my hotel but if anybody wants to stay there at the rib net discount, then they will honour the rates.

Wittingham we will see you when we are next over.and thanks for all your help.

Is the antifoul on yet! Methinks there will never be sunshine til that gets applied. I've been running courses up in the lake district this week - now I know why there are so many lakes up there-its always b***** raining!

There is a saying, that if you put your sunglasses on for long enough the sun comes out.

Hi folks

Given up trying to get min of 4 days good weather. Have got the boatyard that its in to do it.

They can move it into heated sheds and then the weather is not an issue. Think the cost is a ripoff but it looks like the only way I am going to get it done.

Should be done next week, need a week to fully harden before going in the water then its bring her back up to Fleetwood.

So 8th or 15th of June is fave, lets just hope for good weather.

Worst case is I come up to Conway on the Friday of the weekend for the trip to IOM. If the weather is OK for that trip it would be fine to bring the boat up from Milford Haven.

Regards Gary

Gorgeous day on the Menai Strait yesterday! Especially good it seems for some "off roading" - Swelly Rock and a Beneteau Antares 760 full ahead both engines!! I think the poor chap lost his steerage (probably unfamiliar with the whirlpools etc).

Raft race went very well, apart fromn the flour bomb on my GPS!!
