OK I'll arrange 50 for you, just pay on the day as you may not need it all.

The weather is looking good for Saturday May 5. Please make sure you have sent your details to webmaster@llyn.info to be on the mailing list. Final details will be issued early/mid week.
Still over 50 vessels listed as well as some coming from Anglesey west coast and possibly Conwy to meet up at the Ty Coch. The pub has been warned!

Thanks Ian that would be great!
I'd be happy to contribute towards fuel costs for the day. Any ideas who it'd be with?

Details confirmed for May 5th

Peninsula Rib and Sportsboat Cruise 2007

Saturday May 5th, Pwllheli – Porth Dinllaen

All participants must remember that this event is a social cruise and not a race!
We cruise together keeping other boats in visual contact. By all means go off for a blast if you want, but please keep the flotilla in sight and return to the group.
Safety boat and First Aid cover will be provided and in the event of a breakdown a tow will be organised where required. The destination for a tow will be dependant on the location at the time of breakdown.
Should any boat make the decision to turn back, they will be accompanied by a second vessel. A further safety boat will maintain position as last boat. Lifejackets must be worn and your vessel must carry a fixed or hand held VHF marine radio. Safety for all is paramount. The organisers take no responsibility for loss, damage or personal harm under any circumstances.
Ensure you have enough fuel for a 135nm trip. This will allow 1/3 extra in case it’s needed. If you cannot carry this amount of fuel, please inform the organiser who will make fuel available at Porth Dinllaen. This will be charged for. Ensure you carry plenty of drinking water, sun cream etc.
Registration for visiting boats is required by Gwynedd Council, there is then a £12 launch fee to use the public slipway at Pwllheli. You will be emailed an electronic form which can be returned by email or posted through the Harbour Masters door on the morning of the cruise. Launch early as times will be kept to.
The fuel pontoon will not be open early so if you are towing here fill up en route. If your boat is already in Pwllheli, fill up before Saturday morning. If you can print copies of all paperwork please do so and carry onboard your vessel.
Black Jack and Nimrod will be anchored just beyond Pwllheli Fairway buoy (red and white vertical stripes) so please contact one of us by radio, Ch08, or come alongside and identify your boat.
All boats taking part must reply by email with their details by return to the organiser webmaster@llyn.info to allow efficient radio communications etc. It would also be useful to know how many people will be onboard each boat on the day. Please check all your safety equipment onboard.

On the day:
Launch at a suitable time to allow assembly at Pwllheli Fairway buoy
VHF Radio channel ‘08’
Safety/Lead vessel call sign ‘Black Jack’
Black Jack will make routine traffic call to HM Coastguard and in the event of any breakdown or emergency; Black Jack should be contacted on channel 08 with details
Cruising speed approx 25 knots
09:00-09:30 Assemble Pwllheli Fairway for distribution of passage plan and details
09:45 Depart Pwllheli Fairway
10:15 Meet at Abersoch (off Warren Beach) for distribution of passage plan and details for new boats
10:30 Depart Abersoch
Cruise via the south coast of the Llyn Peninsula
12:30 ETA Porth Dinllaen – Lunch available at the Ty Coch or bring your own
14:00 Depart Porth Dinllaen (using reverse route)
16:00 ETA at Abersoch and boats peel off
16:30 ETA Pwllheli marina for recovery
18:30 Assemble at Pwllheli Marina Boat Club for evening BBQ. Food will be charged for.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out. My gran died on Friday afternoon, so I've been up in Manchester this weekend, and will be going back up towards the end of next week for the funeral. Due to having to take time out from work because of this, I won't be able to attend the cruise, sorry folks. Have a good one. If the weather stays as it is now you'll have a scorcher (touch wood, don't want to curse it for you!).

Cheers,
Matt

Matt, also sorry to hear your news. There are some things more important than boating and family is one.
Keep in touch.

There are now 60 vessels listed for the day leaving Pwllheli and Abersoch. Further ribs are joining us at PD from Anglesey and some Motor Cruisers are making their way from Conwy to meet up as well.
BBQ arranged for the evening at Pwllheli Marina Boat Club.
The weather still looks great so last chance to join up. Email webmaster@llyn.info for details.

Sadly I won't be able to join you this weekend. But just so you have even more to look forward to, here are some pictures taken around the Abersoch area yesterday.

Apologies for quality, taken on telephone camera.

Hope you have a great day

Thanks Ian for organising today and having me on board. It seems that everyone enjoyed it even if it was a bit rough for 1 or 2!

I'm looking forward to the next one.

Like to add my thanks to Ian for the great day even though we did turn back (at least my wife won't be in bed for a month with her knackered back though).

Real shame about the weather. We sailed for years out of Pwllheli - got really bored coz it was flat calm and no wind more often than not....bought a RIB and here comes the wind - incredible!

Nice to meet some of you and put faces to names (and boats).

See you next time.

Mike & Jane.
