Marky - You had better pack the thermals mate - it aint none too warm here at the mo! Went fishin' yesterday morning and the breeze (although not too stong) cut to the core! I then compounded things by going along to watch #1 son play his season opener gridiron game - that was bleeding cold too!
Still - I did catch a coupla troots, and my casting was back to normal within an hour, so wasn't all bad. And Jon's team won too!

Back to business - will be down on friday morning - hopefully breakfast in Stranraer, then will see you guys shortly afterwards. Will give you a bell when we get close.

C'ya soon....

Yep, we had a dose of that hard rain too - just fine sitting with a glass in my hand, watching it bounce round the garden.

These Scottish troots didn't want anything to do with boobies (or even razzlers) - floating line and buzzers stuff - even though it was baltic!

Joan reckons that the message should have got through by now - t'will be a nice weekend!

c'ya soon........

Marky,

Wot toys are you bringing?

Do you think Rob will want to christen the new wakeboard? More to the point - has he been on the pies? Will he still get up? We all know the 'down' bit is never a problem.

You planning on doing any fishing?

C'ya very, very soon....

Got a grid ref/ GPS coordinate for NEB

I'm a bit laid up with crutches at the mo, but will see what the weather's like and whether my crew is up for a trip on Fri/Sat.

Have you got a grid ref/gps plot for NEB?

No promises

Jon

Jon,

Using work PC, so do not have access to my GPS stuff at the mo.
If you look at Multimap, NEB is directly across from Portlogan on the Solway side of of the Mull. Scroll down to the bottom of the map, and you get a grid ref which you can put into your GPS. I've been playing with this a bit, and it's a dead easy way of setting waypoints - make a list of places and their grid refs, then using 'EasyGPS' (a freebie) enter them into a PC. Then upload them into your GPS when ready. Which makes me think that I may a ref for NEB in this PC somewhere - I'll have a look and let you know.

OK - just found it:- lat 54:44:12N (54.7366), lon 4:55:17W (-4.9213) , grid ref NX120418.

None of us have vhf yet, but you can call/text me ashore on mobile 07900 418591. If we are out playing, you will easily spot us in the bay - two red and one blue ribs - all 4-5mtrs.

Bill
