Nacho's in Yarmouth (Again) - Sat 28th Jan

I'm 95% sure I'll be doing another Nacho Run (Wheatsheaf in Yarmouth) this Saturday (28th Jan) if anyone else wants to join me.
Probably leaving Southampton Drystack not too early - 11.00 - 11.30 so should be in Yarmouth about 12.30.

More Nachos

The weather forecast at the moment looks good, as are the Poole tides.

Count me in!

(Which boat will you be in (for VHF purposes)?

I'll be in Blue Ray as I'll have Katie and two of her friends with me - which would be a squeeze in the Searider!

Sorry to miss it. I was in the midlands. Passed branksome on the way home at about 4. It looked perfect.

Half an hour earlier and you would have seen us: 45kts and as steady as you like!

Good day out - but with a stronger easterly than forecast on the way back dropped the temperature but the extra fleece for both Mrs A and me for the return leg paid dividends.

(Although helming with two of us in one fleece was a little difficult )

Just bought a GoPro Hero 2 - this weekend's nacho run should have been it's test run - but 2 important lessons have been learnt....
1. - after you've charged it for the 1st time and fiddled about with the settings - don't forget to turn it off again. Otherwise you fit it to the A-frame , turn it on... and get 3 second's filming before it goes flat! Alternatively change it's default power mode to power down after x minutes!
2. Take a 12V to USB charging lead with you so when you've been stumped by (1) above, you can at least charge it up and have another go!

Next time......

I would like the GoPro but was given this Dogcam Bullet HD Wide. Good enough for now but focus at a distance is a bit iffy could be better with more light It may be passed in to my sons for skiing so I can get something a bit more sophisticated to play with. Ah toys, don't you love them.

John,

Yes this is the replacement. Better but still not great! However speeding it up to x16 didn't help but the full length one was very boring, no matter how I edited it!
