Nacho Run to Yarmouth on Sat 2nd Dec

The weather's looking cold but flat for this Saturday, so I'm hoping to run from Southampton to Yarmouth for a pre-Xmas Nacho run in the Wheatsheaf.

Anyone else out and about is welcome to join me. (probably getting to Yarmouth about 12.15 so we can be back before it gets dark.)

Hi Trevor

it's been a long time. sorry but cannot get a pass for Saturday from Mrs A. I was thinking of going out on Sunday the wind is a bit stronger but nothing significant. A pity but will catch up with you before the end of the year for sure

Have a good run

I'm hoping to launch the RIB and be out somewhere on Saturday, but not quite sure yet. If we do launch and come up that way, will definitely head to Yarmouth and look out for you!

I did manage to avoid all the dingy sailors at the club and launch the RIB, but looks like we're headed to Lymington instead, so that Mum can join by land. Having just flown bad from Peru yesterday, she doesn't fancy cold ribbing for some reason!

Hopefully we'll get some similar good weather after Christmas, and will be able to join the Yarmouth jolly on 27th Dec.

Regards,

Paul

I ended up doing Poole -> Lymington -> Poole. Absolutely flat calm, so the passages were perfect, but definitely felt a bit chillier than when I popped up to Yarmouth 2 weekends ago. A few other boats around, not surprising given the reasonable forecast and sea state, but not that many still. Lymington town quay had 3 sailing yachts, a couple of motor boats, and my RIB, so a reasonable little crowd.

Have a great time tomorrow - I'm sadly back in London now!

As per Paul's comments - was very flat but a bit chilly - worth packing a good hat / balaclava / helmet to keep warm.

Not many other boats out so loads of room in Yarmouth. Nachos were as good as ever, and I met up with Mike D (Watershed) so didn't have to eat alone!

Have a good day on Sunday.

Nacho run to Cowes

Mike C joined me on this trip and we also enjoyed flat seas, little wind and in the afternoon a bit of sunshine.

good Nachos at the Anchor in Cowes

I filled up with fuel in Cowes and when I saw the range we just thought of going and going - only the wrong time of the year

From Cowes we headed to Newtown Creek and then back to SDS

a great day for a lunch in Cowes and got home at 4 PM just before it got dark.

I had my GoPro running so will post a short clip later
