don't know what the fuss is about, the faster you go the less in the water, just stay away from the dry bits

still, thinking about it, probably worth staying away from them black ospreys too, they seem to both be attracted to the sharp stuff

A few years back I was on a kayak course run by Plas Menai, we went through the swellies in our kayaks got through both bridges and then managed to capsize in the calmer water near the island with the church on it. Its not the swellies that bother me, its if theres any big stuff around the corner near Puffin Island.

Two people in a queue for the charts. Thanks, will let you know.

Lol! Don't worry. There'll be a line of you going through, with experienced people at the front.

Ribs on the plane only take a few inches of water.

don't be worrying about Puffin Island and what's round the corner, if it's that bad we'll just send rocknrolla round, the rest of us can head back to the gazelle, the cardinal will be marking the spot

For those of you who are new to ribbing and are a bit apprehensive about going round the Island please don't feel that you are pressured to do so. If whoever is at the helm feels comfortable but have passengers who are getting knocked about a bit due to being in a small rib, tony t and HUMBER P4VWL will take some on board their larger ribs. I am sure some of the other big ribs will be willing to do so as well. Remember it's all about knowing your limits... if the weather is kind and the sea is like a mill pond there should be no problem getting round for most of us. Please remember to carry enough fuel for the day and to carry it in adequate containers making sure that they are well lashed down to your boats.

Keep hearing about potential tanker strikes and the advice to not stockpile fuel. Now I don't want to stockpile, but I do want to fill 4 20 litre jerry cans for the cruise. This is a dilemma

Do we need to fuel up in groups, with someone riding shotgun, or just chance the abuse

27mph gusts will make it difficult to get right around the island for some, a bit of a way off yet though to trust this site, XC isnt that good for three days ahead forecast but does seem to be spot on for next day caernarfon forecasts
