Ah, never caught up with you sorry Shaun. Gutted you had engine probs before we all met up. However v glad someone helped you, the benefit of lots of us out on the water, you must have been in Chris' as we went past. Not sure who had a tornado with a honda on, someone will know.

In the evening I didn't catch you and had to shoot at 9.40. Hope to catch up soon. Pm me when you're around and vice versa. You can hold me to that beer.

Indy R1 looking good. One of the battlers of the day!! Great to see you out. 5 stars to your crew!!
Paul and associates, thanks for organising a great day and we sure made the most of the day despite what the weather threw at us.

Thanks to Tony and Mick also for additional escort back to Base after the wind did it's best to upset the day in the closing hour.

Big thanks also to Chris and his crew you did a great job to manage all the launching and recover's.

a big thankyou to the men at the top, we had a great day - leaving holyhead at 08.30 with 1978searider to meet up at chris's at 10.30. im not a fair weather boater and love the challenge of heavy seas any time, but this was by far the longest ive been out in such conditions, and as stated earlier if it had not been because of the ribnet cruise i would probably have stayed much closer to home. i have to say that being part of such a large group of boats going through the swellies was awesome!

p.s. never got that pint of of humber paul ?
Shaun, It was I that came back to Chris's with you, hope engine problem is nothing major, I suspect a bit of muck in the fuel line. I will see you out again soon

Thanks to everyone we met for a brilliant fanstic day. We set off from Chris's place with everyone else and headed down to Beaumaris. I have never experienced such sea conditions before and at one point looked up to see an orange coloured RIB stood on its engine end, bolt upright Once we discoverd that we were not going to die, we soon began to enjoy the cruise. I noticed Shaun falling behind but asssumed this was tactical rather than engine problems. We got through the Swellies with the aid of the chart plotter and were heading for Beaumaris, when we heard on the radio that everyone was turning back. We headed back through the Swellies and waited for the pack to arrive. We set off for Chris's place and again encounterd some very interesting seas. At one point we were on top of a wave at full throttle but nothing was happening. Thanks to Paul for sticking with us on the way back and organising everything and to Chris who made launch and recovery so easy. We can't wait for the next one.

With a gale warning ENE the flotilla went up to Beaumaris from Caernarvon to meet those that launched there, then we ran right back through the strait and naturally split in to groups. 3 big ribs went to Holyhead and back. About 10 in two groups made it to the SW side of Holyhead, by Treaddur bay, then turned back in to the wind due to weather picking up. A long slog back for smaller boats, with a lot of air and bows lifting. Better safe than sorry.

Many who got out over the bar went to Llandwyn island, pilots cove for some lunch. Then headed back in.

A fantastic day, no breakdowns, no accidents and many out in seas they would never have bothered/dared to alone.
.

Fantastic day the only scary bit was trying to put the boat back on the trailer at beaumaris pier with the rollers coming in all who retrieved there around 4pm will know what I mean. Clever yoyo did the right thing he booted the wife out at the pier she picked trailer up off the car park and met back up under menia bridge , I think it's about time I trained my other half up on towing.
Thanks again p4vwl. And all.

When are we all playing again ?

Yep, porth Daniel is a far better slip than Beaumaris. Fully tidal and well protected.

We got back to Gazelle after 4 and I had to row ashore in a one man bathtub! Scary to say the least, but wind blew me on to beach. If I'd forgotten keys or something I'd have had no chance of rowing out again!

Glad you all got back safe, will post soon no doubt. May is a write off for me though, with stag dos and weddings and birthdays.

That's the first time she has towed anything she done well, she dont even drive the 4x4

I didn't fancy retrieving my boat at Beaumaris after watching the fight that you and the family had mate.
Asswacker also told me that when he was retrieving his rib it was picked up by the surf and it nearly went through the back window of his vehicle, briefly pinning you against it

Anyway I enjoyed the blast back to Menai Bridge with the weather behind me after that long slog into it from Caernarfon.

We had a great weekend thanks to all the effort that everyone put in to organise this.
Don't think my passenger enjoyed it as much though.
It's was good to meet people at the eve bash like Bilksem and get to know people more looking forward to the next one.

Fantastic day.

Well done to everyone that made the effort seeing that the weather forecast was not going to be so good plus the unexpected gale warning from the coast guard it looks like everyone had a good day.

It was good to see the usual suspects again plus meet some faces sorry we didn't get chance to say hello to everyone but hopefully we will meet again on the next trip.
We had some interesting seas!! lets hope on the next trip we might get better weather and manage to get round Anglesey and complete the cruise.

Stars of the day for me Indy R1 well done Si the sight of you battling to get back over the bar in your rib i will remember for a long time

Michel (bliksem) all the way from Belgium it was really nice to meet you, we had a great day with you on board domino. Me Cheryl and Joe enjoyed every minute in your company and hope we will meet again soon, its a pity we didn't get to show you a little more of Anglesey but hope you enjoyed the day and won't be put off coming back again after experiencing the British weather

Chris at Ty Calch well done mate a big thank you from everyone the launch and recovery was 1st class as usual, i think you will be getting a few more regulars

The evening pig roast, those of you that missed this it was a great night i had my share of pork swilled down with a few beers Sam (rocknrollas son) aged 12 you want to go on the X factor the way you did Elvis and hunk a hunk of love had all the moms screaming and all the dads wishing they had what you have, you can swing them hips kid it was nice to have a chat and drink with everyone also it made a change to see hadd sitting on a chair instead of hiding underneath one as this is what he tends to do a lot on here

Unfortunately my video camera mount decided to break so i only have a few pictures i will leave this years cruise video to hadd
