I am positive I saw your boat leaving the Gazelle yesterday and decided to follow it to Moelfre as I thought it was you (didn't read this thread this weekend due to the mobile having low battery ).

Anyway the boat was shifting and I couldn't catch him TBH

Enjoyed the day at Moelfre especially the water fight but unfortunately our day ended prematurely as my mates child (who insisted that he sat in the suicide seat all the way) decided that he wanted to get off the boat so we returned Beaumaris where my mates wife gave him an ear bashing

P.S. Apologies to Chris, Jeff and Power2Gran for splitting off the group as I genuinely thought the yellow humber was part of the group on the day

Sorry I missed you all. It gets confusing as there's three of us that occasionally use it. We're all short and rotund too!

I'm sure the others will have been fine. Mr C will have been grinning all the way anyway what with his new little baby! I'd guess pow2gran too, has he not got the new RC 585 with140 suz? That alongside Chris's make two very desirable boats.

Catch up soon, hoping for bank hols one day.

Great day - first test of the RC585 in the chop. I think Loz would have preferred to have got off at Beaumauris too on the way home but endured the ride down the straits with a long face.

Thanks for the company of Jef, Chris and wacky.

The helicopter demo and the lifeboat is quite impressive as will be the new lifeboat station when it is finished.

There is always one irate bugger who didn't want to get wet from Loz's water pistol because they had not got a wet suit on! Also amazing that there were no collisions with so many craft in close proximity to one another. Hope to post a few pictures later.

Can't wait till next weekend when we have a full week at Coed Helen and are planning a few trips out if anyone is interested. Hope it is not too windy! Just a weeks work to do first though.

That's because my dad was fathing about in the bar and we were last to leave Conway

With the exception of Rocky and the Stingher we were first back on the Conway to Caernfaron run and had even recovered the boat by the time you showed up

Anyway I am expecting Mr Smith to be faster than my boat as you have more power

Top end speed is 40 knots which is also is in line with this test report that I found. Using about the same amount of fuel as the 2 smoke Tohatsu 60hp

t'was a great day out, good company with Gareth , Wackywoody, and his crew, Neil, Pow2gran, and Helen & Lawrence, not forgetting me ol pal Jeff, and Sandy & bro Gary, them wot didn't make it missed a good cruise mr Smith did look to be running much better without HP at the wheel, but I could be biased, and woz good to see a big wave from HPs mum N dad from the balcony on the way back, time we had a proper drink at The Gazelle me thinks 🍻 Neil's n Helens 585 does look really nice, goes well too, excellent choice, be good to have a proper run out, hopefully next w'ends weather will be a touch kinder to us, maybe even get back to Ty Coch for a pint on the beach

you missed a gud'un Tony, some spectacular helicoptering, especially over the the new lifeboat station n the crowd on the shore, best yet oh, n the lifeboats were great too

not sure I wuz smilin, maybe a touch of gritted teeth, especially on the way back after puffin island, the stretch back to Beamauris was a touch lumpy the Searider coped well, not sure I did it justice

How you finding the baby SR4 Chris now you've been out a few times?

Is it knackering? Physically demanding? Difficult to keep up with the 5.5m plus boats? Or a breeze?

it's great fun Paul, but it'll never keep up with the bigger more powerful ribs, present setup it's good to around 32kts but runs out of puff then, but as it's chine walking at that point I don't see much point in going any bigger with the prop. it was fine in the rough stuff, but again it'll never keep up with the bigger ribs as it can't ride the swell n breaking waves like a bigger rib, dropping into the troughs with white water breaking over the bow tends to slow me down a touch, but maybe the rib is just better than me but, when it gets on the plane it's just soooooooooo much fun

Must be fun though playing in the waves. With instant throttle response I guess it's more involving too. Probably more smiles per miles/pound/wave. Just not ideal for long distance obviously.

it's great fun and I think with a 90l fuel tank onboard round the island should be on the cards, after Caernarfon to Moelfre n back must be getting on for 1/2 the distance anyway 😎
