Moelfre Lifeboat day 10th August 2013 - Anglesey

this is a great day out with exercises and demonstrations by a number of RNLI boats and the helicopter. There were literally thousands of people on shore last year and over a hundred boats!

Moelfre have just recieved the new Tamar boat "Kiwi" and also have an IB1 inshore rib.

Timings etc will follow (C'mon YOYO!) but it's on the 10th August I believe. I'm sure there will be a strong contingent from Chris's slip near Caernarfon, at Ty Calch where you can launch with a number of people and cruise the 25 mile or so to Moelfre.

The cruise takes you up the Menai Strait past Snowdon, Plas Newydd - Home of the Marquess of Anglesey on the banks of the water, 2 castles, 2 bridges and 2 piers with plenty of experienced ribnobbers to guide you through an impressive stretch of water round to Moelfre, where the name of the day is socialising and seeing some boats/helicopters etc

See you there!!!!

This is normally his baby! I'm sure he will be along soon to point out we have the wrong date and location!!

He may be busy working on the better half! His parting shot on Sat was "I'm going to have to get a bigger boat!"

Whilst I pointed out Simsy was fine, Yoyo seemed to think his wife would prefer not to be stuffed in the bow with swimming goggles on being thrown around as if in a washing machine.

Should be there, and after Saturday I'm tempted in a bigger boat too - although I really wouldn't have changed anything about the ride in Saturday, exhilarating.

As we all know it's a great day. This year I believe the lifeboat day is on Sat. 10/08/2013.

festivites start in the Village from around 10:30ish. Stalls, bands raffles etc. The life boat and chopper displays are usually from around 12:30pm.

This will be the first LB day with the new Tamar class LB "Kiwi"

I'm not so sure they wanted a tow, I think they were just trying to get away from you and ran aground in their efforts
