Love to, but some of us have to work for a living...

Can't leave base until 2030 earliest on a Friday or Saturday (sniff); at the risk of being seen as slightly odd Sundays and Tuesdays are good for us for nocturnal navigation. Anyway, once it's dark, it's dark; so you might as well set off in the black stuff and enjoy it all the more. Once you realise that yours is the only boat out between Bute and Ailsa Craig it all seems different somehow. Donuts in the moonlight because you can; drifting silently and eating flapjack at 0130, really struggling not to call your pal whose house is on the near shore, just to say "guess where I am"; running from lightning in an F6, then realising it's the life ring strobe light every time you drop off a big wave; knowing that two flashes on the horizon means home is getting closer; finding your mooring among all the unlit yots...

...and a wee dram followed by a warm dry bed.

Def. can't do before the 18th, by when I may have managed to get the hull back to a useable state. If it gets postponed for whatever reason I'll give you a definite maybe!

No need to postpone just for me.... I just won't have a workable boat before then!
