Is there another way from Caernarfon to Conwy without going past puffin?

Past Southampton

We have to go near puffin if we go round Anglesey or up the Straits, So we can pull up closer and take a look on the way out and back. Depending on who is out its a good place to re-group and assess if people want to continue over to Conwy.

Edit - I now understand what your saying - that we have to go past puffin.....

Yep! At high tide you can hug the Mainland coast from Bangor and cut out about 6 miles each way! You won't go anywhere near puffin.

Just make sure it's a big tide, you get the times right and don't look at your depth sounder!!! It swings from 8m to 1m regularly as you go over the sandbanks!!! Especially if there's a swell. :-0

Did it a couple of years ago as it was rough. Headed straight to Conway just before Gallows point.

Lowest it showed was 0.5m in the trough of a big wave, got pretty concerned a that point but we were 1/2 way across and figured we may as well stay at WOT, draw as little as possible and hope for the best! It's only sand there anyway!

We were before the high tide, so if you go at full there'd be more.

Yes still on for me weather permitting.

I've just had a look at a couple of long-range weather forecasts and it really aint looking at all clever for 28th!

I'll have another look tomorrow but I'm inclined at this stage to say 'no chance'.

It keeps changing, but I agree at the moment.

Was just reading about another massive storm due Boxing Day that will bring big sea surges
