Margate - Dover in a F7!

Well, not really a F7 but there was a "near gale" warning inplace - tappy and i decided to call off the dunkerk trip we had planned for Saturday and head somewhere closer instead. Dover port control were reporting 25knts when we arrived there. Coming through the goodwin sands saw HUGE waves, some breaking. Great fun.

As ever there are no pic's of us "in action" so to speak 'coz it was too damn hairy!

Here we are waiting fora few ferries before we could enter.

We left Dover at about 2pm and headed on to Folkstone, a coffee stop and then back to Margate. The seas had flattened off a lot and we made 30-40 knts most of the way back. I think tappy clocked 43 (i had my eyes shut).

Here is a snapshot of the GPS track (might not work, first try at this!)

Margate, my "home port" is a drying harbour. I can recover HW +2hrs if i let the tide go out around the boat and then winch it off the sand, if all goes to plan that is.

Here is top-banana beached at about 7pm Saturday.

But, having forgotten the key to the lock that attached the trailer to the car we had to adopt an alternative approach - reverse the trailer under the boat.

Ah it was you then!!

I was sitting, enjoying a nice meal in Margate.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw this yellow Rib entering the habour, just as it was getting dark.

Now I know who it was

Sounds like a good time was had by one and all

Regards
