Littlehampton Cruise 2006 May 27th-28th

Well everybody as the days get longer now is the time to start preparing for the on coming season.

Phil & I have tried to select the best time for the LAmpton cruise and to do so have also had to take under consideration the time of the HW at LA

Having looked at a few dates we have selected the weekend Saturday 27th Sunday 28th May. We know this is the bank Holiday weekend and perhaps some of you will have made plans to go away ect or perhaps others have thought of coming down to the South Coast for a bit of ribbing.

It is 2 weeks after RIBEX and possibly 4 weeks ahead of the RibNet conference if organized for the end of June.

Hopefully this year the weather will be much kinder and the Solent group in full will make it across by sea

I will shortly post the names and tel of the local B & B and an agenda for the weekend

Those who wish to participate pls post their names , name of rib, how many persons and which group ie Solent group or Littlehampton group

Andre

Just opposite the Harbour Masters office is :

the Quayside has 6 rooms for multi occupancy all with en suite, 1 single with private bathroom
Price: £35.00/person

Towards the beach is :
The Nelson Hotel
61, Pier Road
tel: 01903 713358
www.nelsonhotel.com
they hv 5 rooms
2 x twin
2 x double
1 x family
in total they can cater for 12 persons

Just round the corner from the Nelson Hotel

Regency Bed & Breakfast
South Terrace
Seafront
tel: 01903 717707

Arun Sands B & B
84, South Terrace
Seafront
tel: 01903 732489

As each B & B want credit card deposit or guarantee it is best if all interested parties made their own reservations. Please do not leave it too late as the above B & Bs are within walking distances from the river and mooring . Also nearer the time some B & B may not want to accept a reservation for 1 night.

Sorry Andre and Phil we were anticipating you organising it a little earlier and are away on holiday that weekend.
I can thoroughly recommend this to anyone who wants a great weekend. Last year it had a bit of everything. From a sedate(ish) river trip up(and down) the Arun to "The Black Rabbit" to a return trip from Brighton which will stay in my memory for ever.

Thanks for your support . We thought the earlier the better so very few will have a good excuse not to participate

Martyn, sorry to hear this but we knew once we set the date that it would not suite all. Sadly not a good date for you and Ann. As for your return rib ride from Brighton then I must again say that I just don't know how you survived

Hope you will come down one weekend to LAmpton

I have put this in our diary and could be good for our team practising and having some fun at same time.

Hi Martyn

I'm sorry you won't be able to make it. Who will I be able to use as ballast this year?

You know we'll just have to meet up a bit later in the year when we come to you.

Looking forward to this cruise more than ever.

I guess we will have a similar arrangement like last year ie

two groups

1) The welcoming party

Phil & Tracy Chitty - Galaxsea II < LAmpton home
Andre & Wiesia - Seahawk 3 < Arun View

2) The Solent Group coming by sea
Jackeens > Kathleen & Paul > Merlin <

When confirming your participation please post user name, how many in party, and name of B&B/Hotel/or S & A if camping

We are again proposing to have the Saturday evening meal at the Arun View and in due course will post menu (kids menu as well) and cost

Well done Andrew. I heard somebody had made a booking but did not know it was you
Wiesia will be disappointed if Becky does not come down. Perhaps she will change her mind.

Group 2 as the boat will most likely be kept in Drivers Wharf
