Thanks Andre.

Have sent pm.

What accommodation is still available?

Also, just thought I'd mention that I'll probably have room on intrepid for a couple more if anyone needs a ride.

Warning Warning Warning

Having seen benc nearly vertical (the boat, not the bloke) more than once last year on the way back from Littlehampton, I cannot reccomend crewing for him to anyone!!!

Bruce

Gee thanks Bruce!

You know, there was that time I looked round I wish I had the camera, all I saw was nearly the complete bottom if your boat. Do you supply parachutes for your crew?

Guys,

I have to 'fess up a bit here. On the way from St Catherines to the Needles in November in a sort of foul SW sea we did get into a spot of trouble. Details are unimportant and everything was fine in the end, but essentially the beam sea got too big to continue with as a beam sea. So I took her directly into it, going SW, away from land, {interesting expereince} and then turned in a (relatively) smooth bit, and raced a fairly big following sea back to the Bridge, picking the bit where there was the least white water. Amazing - within 200m after the Bridge it was nearly dead calm, and we were up to 49k on the GPS.

We found some cracks on the GPS under the sponson (see, I am learning the jargon!) when I got her out of the water, and she has been back at the Hangar for a full hull repair (and 1+ year warranty service) since then.

So I cannot pretend I am not enjoying this rather too much. Of the three crew on that day, my son (16) and one of his two friends (neither of whom had been on a rib before) thought it was amazing fun. The other has opined he does not want to go out in a rib in anything as demanding again!

The key point is that not once did I feel at serious risk. It was just bumpy and a bit scary. It was a case of deciding how to play the sea. We always had the option of turning round.

I think we endured the unpleasant motion of the beam sea for too long - should have turned into it earlier, but we all learn....

I think you are almost certainly getting the hang of the jargon Bruce, although what puzzles me is why you have your GPS fitted under the sponson
