Last Sunday cruise

A couple of our ribnet buddies are coming down South this sunday , I think at least three ribs are going from Soton to Yarmouth this Sunday Lunch and a couple in Yarmouth then back to Southampton.

Anybody Fancy coming along , you are welcome to use the slipway and store your trailers and cars at our Unit in Saxon Wharf if you need to. If you haven't got a boat I ams ure we can squeeze you on to one.

cheers
Stuart

Stuart

I do hope you're not counting on Ian in the above, although I understand he did commit to coming down but has pulled out at the last minute. The words pot and kettle spring readily to mind - well, now he's bought an old Volvo the attraction of blatting round in a RIB will inevitably play second fiddle to leisurely Sunday afternoon drives in leafy Cheshire lanes, preferably at 29mph and with his caravan in tow.

Sorry I missed meeting you at the NW Ribster cruise last weekend, but contrary to any vicious rumours you may have read on this forum, business commitments prevented me from doing so. Can't elaborate further due to pending litigation involving two fellow NWRibsters. I shall be out this Sunday, however, in the company of fellow forum contributor and winter ribster diehard, Bilge Rat, somewhere in the Thames/Medway estuaries, because unlike Ian, of course, we do actually have RIBs to go out in.

Oh, you hadn't heard? Well, following a catastrophic engine failure some months ago in Cardigan Bay, Ian was faced with the unenviable decision whether to sell the whole rig or face a huge repair bill. Sensibly he chose the former option, although unfortunately this has meant he will have been ribless for, MeMe will confirm the exact time, almost six months. Thought I'd better let you know because, oddly, I don't recall seeing any postings about the aforementioned event.

Mr Davies (again), without wishing to start another 'Chuck and FGT' thread I feel it important that I respond to your unfounded alegation.
At no point did I commit to come South tomorrow to join in any rib event. In fact, until yesterday (Friday) was I unaware of your or RW's outing. I am not sure who is travelling South to join RW, but let me assure you that if sufficient notice is given by you not only myself, but I am sure other NWR will arrive to see what 'waves' you have to contend with.
As I posted earlier on some other thread, announce a trip!
I find it sad that a friendship that evolved through ribing is deteriorating to such a degree, and if it continues in this vain I will find myself having to move to Jersey.
Six months is an exageration, and it was noted on Ribnet with MeMe posting a delightful photo of Llynhome in tow. How you take such delight in others misfortunes is beyond me.
So again, get your facts right before posting these inaccurate messages.

N.B. your Christmas card is in the bin!

Yes your right he hasn't got a boat. It's Capstain Mainwearing and Pikey that are coming down. (DM and Jahno) they are on some sort of treasure hunt organised by the Mosside Care in the community department.

They are staying at my place I think and have made it quite clear they do not wish to partake of Alcholic beverage to excess. so I'll just get the one crate of Guiness, see you down here sometime.

I can see Ian's point about notice it takes a long time at 29 mph

It has recently become apparant that volvo owners who do not own a rib are not welcome on RIBnet. With that in mind I've booked one way tickets to Jersey and the house goes on the market on Monday.
I have decided the only option left open to me is to unsubscribe from this forum and join the other non-rib owners or those selling their ribs on boatmad, sorry for swearing JK, but some of your other members have pushed me into a corner and left me no option.
At least I'll get cheap fuel for the volvo! and if any of you ever make it over give me a call, all except you Davies, and Rogue you are getting very close to falling into the same category. Manning is already there so no need for smart arse comments form him this time.

Get better soon Richard.

Hope most of you have a Merry Christmas.

And don't forget the Jamesons. There'll only be me as Jahno is spending the weekend enjoying the hospitality of the North Wales Constabulary. I'll be down in the morning towing a sail boat and wearing a balaclava.

Please ignore Ians rantings. The reason for his unstable mental condition has been diagnosed as being due to not having a boat. As he does have one on order though, the prognosis is good and his depressed state should be reversed by March.

DM
B**tards, just let me out.

Picked up my new discovery from the dealer yesterday. Within 3 hours of owning it and less than 200 miles on the clock, got piged.

I will be staying at home tomorrow, not feeling to well. While in the nic, the dodgy fellow sharing the cell asked me to pick up some soap off the floor. cant remember much after that.

Jailbird

Jahno

Perhaps you could enlighten us re.your spell in custody - I didn't realise possession of an offensive vehicle incurred a custodial sentence and I can't imagine you were jailed for speeding in a Discovery TD5(?)
