Other couple of points to note about the "through Kilbirnie" route - check traffic Scotland - the Lochwinnoch - Kilbirnie road was closed for ? long a couple of weeks ago (didn't get a chance to read the entire tomb of an essay they put on the sign ).

Also there is a Tesco in Kilbirnie that don't mind you filling boat tanks at supermarket prices and is a nice easy tow through the pumps.

And an independant garage on the "back road" to Dalry that does "properly filled" filled rolls as well as not being annoyed with boats fillig up!

So annoyed about missing the chimney......

OK, had a look at Traffic scotland - Cancel the roadworks warning - they appear to have finished.

Petrol comments still stand!

I'll be towing through from Port Edgar on Saturday morning - just wondering how early will have to be on the road...

well Folks I can confirm the weather is going to be pretty good this weekend! So dont be shy and come up on the cruise!
Just so you are all aware if you are not staying the night there is no charge for you coming in but if you are staying overnight there is a very nice reduced rate

hi all,

I been trying to confirm things - as it stands I received email from the organisers today.

Stating due to various reasons the two of them can no longer attend. And they need to postpone the event as planned, although if anybody still want to do it they can!

Not ideal - I am just the messenger - they talking trying again in September.

If you need advice on passage plan let me know, I will try and assist if I can.

regards

Scott

I'm booked in at Portavadie and still intend to go.weather looks OK.
Am planning to be in water at Largs for 9 am Saturday.
Had thought of visiting Tarbert and up Loch Fyne but wondered whether there is anywhere to put in at Lochranza.
What about round Arran on Sunday (nice lunch at Lamlash)if weather OK or Clyde if not so good.

Only 30 miles to Portavadie, worthwhile calling in somewhere for a visit en route.

Kames Hotel springs right to mind as does Rothesay. Have a good one.

Absolutely, want to drop into as many places as possible on way to Portavadie. Up for anything really - only issue is that i can't be in Largs before 10am as coming through from Port Edgar on Saturday morning. Kames Hotel and Rothesay definitely stops for one direction. Never been out on RIB on Clyde before, have been windsurfing there as a kid, but that was a LONG time ago ;-)
