Was thinking of Arran tomorrow. (from Largs)

Is there any way of getting ashore for lunch there?

Thanks.

Looks like there'll be enough water at the jetty by lunch time and it's ok to use,

Think this is a go-er............

If you fancy a trip I'll meet you at the back of little cumbrae or off largs or something tomorrow?

My boat is in and filled up.

Pm me your number?

I love these camel ribs, look brilliant.

Cheers

Was so close to getting one. Probably best 150 ish on market for me.

I'd imagine able to squeeze 0.7lpm or so?

Unfortunately not able to be there, too much going on elsewhere 😟. Have a good run. Lochranza (pontoon) always good for a run ashore for a 'refreshment' and 'comfort' break.

Cracking day out....got quite a few vids so will upload in due course.

A few pics mean time though and a mini "Gunard style".

Plan was to meet Last Tango at Largs (ish) circa 9.30am

Just about to cast off at 9am, phone goes..."I've left my boat keys at home, it is 2 hours there/back"....DOH!

Plan B, I'll head to Lamlash and we can meet up there back of 11 bells or so then-sorted!.

Trundle out the marina 9.30am and greeted with perfect weather and low tide.

About a 15 mile run down to North of Arran from Kip, i get 2/3 Mile off the N/E of Arran and it starts to rain...where the heck did that come from!!!!. Decided to stop and have a wee bite of Lunch and watch the single rain cloud right up the Kyles of Bute. After about an hour of pottering around looking for basking sharks and waiting on Last Tango...they make an appearance, we are at the north end of Arran.

Decide to check out Corrie, very small harbour on the East side, looked very dodgy to enter at the tide we were at so decided against it.

Had a look at the other Harbour in Corrie...it looked worse...check the rocks out!!! pic courtesy of paulsaundersphotography.com

Oh well, let's try Brodick behind the ferry pier, off we go again and see a Basking Shark, first one i've ever seen in 20 yards boating around these parts.

Brodick is a no go, ferry approaching fast so we tail it out the bay round to Lamlash.

WOAH...another fin just outside the bay, huge one now.

Another pic of the basking shark, unfortunately even with a few attempts of drifting near by and swimming towards us they both turned away before a really good picture.

Arrive at Lamlash, place is pretty busy and quite a few ribs knocking about too!

An Avon Adventure 5.6....i still have a soft spot for these.

Time getting on now so, quick bite to eat in the cafe 50 yards from the boat and we are off towards Largs shortly after. As much as i loved my old adventure i'm glad i wasn't in it on way back as was quite lumpy in patches for some reason, we both literally sailed right over the lot of it.

As much as I enjoy taking multiple bin bags of accumulated crap to the local dump, I know what and where I'd rather be doing. Looks like I've missed a crackin day oot !!!
